Well, I have actually really listened to him. I have one of his CD's because I used to be a big fan of him like everyone else but I've just became sick of him trying to be somthing hes not. I couldn't care less if people remember Eminem longer then the Hives or any other band for that matter. I like what I like what I like and whether or not other people will remember it makes no difference to me. It's fine with me if other people enjoy it, thats great for them and I'm glad they found somthing they like but as I said what they think of it wont make me change my feelings about him and his music.

Staind, Creed, Tori Amos, Metallica, Pink Floyd... that would give you a decent idea of my usual tastes. But there's no getting away from the fact that he is good at what he does and makes for some interesting rap "interludes" when I'm building a new CD for my car or the office. No different really to me from Gorillaz. I just got done watching the MTV Video Music Awards, I had watched it so I could see The Hives and The Vines play but I also saw somthing else I enjoyed... When Eminem went up to receive an award you could hear many people boo-ing him. It was definatly very much worth it. Of course if I was there I would have join in and Boo-ed him! How about you?
I wouldn't boo him. I sorta like him. I like his don't-care-a-damn-but-I-know-how-to-watch-my-ass attitude. Anyone can be a I-don't-give-damn person, but very very few people are able to OR it with a I-know-how-to-look-after-myself attitude flag. Nish

MTV2 is pretty good though they seem to be leaning more towards the nu-metal stuff lately. I am a big indie guitar man, and I just don't "get" all the nu-metal stuff. Mind you, I am 31 now so I will be turning into my dad very soon and will abandon MTV2 in favour of endless repeats of The Antiques Roadshow. :) As for Kym Marsh and that cherubic faced tosser from EastEnders ... it's enough to make you reach for a razor blade. I did laugh when he was fined £20K recently though - for endorsing some cheesy wares in "Hello" magazine. ha ha ha ha ha. What a cock.

You know - all that shouty predominantly American thrash stuff where the lead singer shouts into the mike about everything being shit and the lead guitarist plays so fast you can't see his hands move. Amen, Staind, Korn, Limp Bizkit, etc. I read the NME every week. It's the only way to "stay down with ver kidz". man. :)

When it started up, it was impossible to not watch it. They had a mix of great bands on there, with rock ranging from the 70's to present day. Now, it's full of new teenage rock bands with spiky hair who compose boring, miserable songs with no effort whatsoever. I can no longer bear to watch it.

SONORK ID 100.10024I have to agree that MTV2 lacks the range that it used to have, but it's still a hell of a lot more watchable than any other MTV, VH1, The Box, etc. Kerrang ain't too bad but it still relies on the tastes of others, which sadly over the last few weeks has meant school-kids during the day, which is when I tend to be looking for music channels. Paul
