In this case I'm with Mr Bumble. "The Law is an ass" and whoever releases him has their head firmly inserted up their own.

It'll be a cool social experiment, a test as to whether Dr. House's theory that "people don't change" is right. I think that he probably is.

Room full of apparently very clever people with a total lack of common sense and understanding of the real world as they spend all their time in isolated academic communities. "Hmm...." stroking their goatees in unison...."so there are reports of more women murdered and mutilated in the same way as before." "I wonder if it could be Sutcliffe again?" "Interesting hypothesis, let's run the experiment a bit longer to see if our findings are correct" "It'll be a useful addition to the ideas we have of treating murderers" Body. Count. Rises. "Our theories have been disproved - it seems people don't change!" "At least those unfortunate women have been slaughtered in the name of science!" "More canapes Professor Huffington-Buffington?"

Here[^] I am in two minds over this. First I think he should never see the outside of a cell. Second, I think, let him out and hopefully some poor bastard will kill him. How many people do you have to kill in order to be locked up for life? He is described as 'Sane' after his 27 years of treatment. OK, if he is Sane then put him in a proper prison. 27 years in prison has cost us a lot of money, yet it would only have cost 10p to put a bullet through his head.

Why should it matter how "rehabilitated" he is? It's an insult to all the victims and their families that the idea of this would even be entertained. Another vote for the 10p option here.

How many people do you criminals have to kill murder in order to be locked up for life for others to admit that capital punishment had a valid place in society?

If he was truely sane he'd've suicided once he realized what he did.

Wow. They are effectively claiming to have rehabilitated a serial killer. That's nuts. I'd put money on it that, if let out, this guy kills again.

Those know that they and theirs are unlikely to pay the price in blood which will follow from his release. That some no-one will die as a result of their actions is a small price to pay to validate their own inestimable goodness.

I think they should have chosen there words better when they said they would rehabilitate him to be bus or train tickets. Serial killers can't be rehabilitated. They're sociopaths or psychopaths.
