    Right now, if you pay for something via PayPal, you can do a $1.00 check off to help the relief effort for the Aussie brush fires.

      I didn't see that. I'm betting they take US$1 and give AU$1 to the fire relief ( that is, about 62% ).

        You could be right. I do know that recently when I sent U$10 to a friend in Canada, he got $10 Canadian. A week later he sent it back (as a refund) and I got U$8.62. On the other hand, when I sent money once to Canada via Western Union, they handed out in Canadian dollars what I sent in U.S. dollars AND charged me $17.00 besides. At any rate, I would guess that Oz should get a chunk of change, and I suspect it's needed.

          Easier just to donate directly to their red cross[^] directly I suspect. Since they only take $AU I suspect you'll be hit with whatever your CC charges in conversion fees.
