Ultimately, all recessions and depressions resolve themselves into crises of confidence. The instant, global, 24/7 communications of today make them ever more so. President Obama, in his pursuit of liberal big-government spending, has totally neglected the role of the president of the United States in reversing global panic. To the contrary, his every remark and the constant preoccupation of his Cabinet is to heighten the sense of crisis and to escalate the predictions of doom if we do not do as they tell us and raise spending now and taxes later. Is Dick Morris one of your heroes? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Morris#Fallout[^] Jon Stewart has some apposite comments on Dick Morris about 2/3 of the way through the video here: http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=184086&title=Sarah-Palin-Gender-Card[^] The US shrunk at an annualized rate of 6.2% in the final quarter of 2008, before Obama took office. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aKMkV532Xkq0&refer=home[^] Face the facts here. The economy is in crisis and this is not the time for denialist happy talk.
