OK, so now you're able to make your case ? What's known is that a lot of men and women in the third world get sick after the men have sex with prostitutes. What disease do you claim is killing them, rather than AIDS ? I mean, I can understand what you're saying, and it seems possible that the funding does not exist for mass testing, and instead they just assume it's AIDS that kills them. I guess if you believe it's another disease, we should talk about what disease that could be, and why no-one has thought to check.

Well, of course it's not AIDS. If you kiddies would only think you'd realise that it's advanced HIV.

I'm always able to make my case -- I make it a habit to know what I'm talking about. You, on the other hand, seem to be incapable of learning.

Good morning. What took you so long?

A search for Africa AIDS statistics exaggerated returned plenty of posts on the inaccuracy of UN AIDS statistics, before I posted asking you substantiate your claims. You mean: "Do you honestly claim to believe that things aren't still being done this way today?". Well, the UN has had to substantially revise its figures, so my opinion (rather than belief) is that they are probably having to be less alarmist, and take more care with their statistical analyses. But I am open to correction.

So, not "woefully unprepared," but rather intellectually dishonest. You knew that what I said was true, and yet you still thought to play "Gotcha."

This did not make your case. It pointed out some errors in the data from 5+ years ago. Give us another data point from more recently so we can do at least a linear extrapolation to today. You would not (or at least should not) accept it if I said the AIDS rate was 10% of the population, based on picking a single area where that is the case. Say, the infectious illness ward of a San Fran hospital in the early 90s. I'm not saying you are cherry picking the data, but I am saying you have not shown that you are not.

I believe you are always able to make your case. Now, instead of resting on those laurels, go out and actually make it, instead of telling us that we are not capable of understanding it, and therefore not making the effort to enlighten us.

But "You knew that what I said was true" implies your belief that my links supported your statement. So how would my posting them be a "Gotcha"? (Oh! An inadvertent "Gotcha", sorry.) Bogus? The figures were inaccurate and exaggerated because of flawed methodologies. But the methodologies were and are in the public domain, and open to scrutiny. That scrutiny has led to the methodologies being revised, and the figures corrected. On the basis of this evidence, my opinion is that the statistics were probably not deliberately falsified, and thus were and are not "bogus". But I am open to correction.

So, there is an historical reason for your being evasive when asked to provide the evidence for any statement that you might post. Fair enough.

Apparently. It seems I should learn to accept a single news source of your liking as being obvious and absolute truth. Too bad your 'news source' for today, contradicts this one.
