Yep, the loonies are still banging away. 100 months to save the earth etc. Funny how that 100 months was 100 months 7 months ago. But of course, its the unreachable finish line they taunt us with, thats thier goal. If we forked out and put on the hair shirts, reducing CO2 by 20% they would demand 25%, and so on and so on. Just so long as they can keep their funding. All this of course against a background of a 8 year cooling trend of 3.5 degrees C per century. Yep, 3.5 degrees. And we are supposed to have warmed it by 0.6 `C per century by driving cars and having holidays. Yeah, sure. So if we stopped driving it would cool by 4.1 degrees C per century? Fuck me, sounds like a new ice age. Keep burning the coal and oil dudes, you know its just plant food!

Given the way the economy is going, I was beginning to hope for a little global warming. Once we've burned the worthless stock certificates, what else can we use to keep us warm?

There certainly is a lot of hot air coming from the mouth of the Czech prime minister aimed at Obama's handling of these inconvenient little fiscal difficulties. Perhaps the hot air can be bottled :~

He's just pissed because we don't take Czechs any more. It has to be cash on the barrelhead.

Mind you, this don't look good reading for BoA or Wells Fargo Moody's downgrades Bank of America, Wells Fargo. Banks may need more government support to boost capital, agency says[^]. I doubt neither are ready to start repaying any bailout monies just yet even though BoA suggests a start next month.

Don't forget that Moddy's kept rating CDS's as A number 1 practically until Lehman bros went belly up. Thye might be overly cautious these days. On the other hand, saying that any bank in any country is sick and may not get better is pretty much a sure thing. "Put your faith not in the Princes of Men, my son, but in gold - bullion and coins." I'm sure that's either in the Bible or Shakespeare . . .
