I think you tend to judge your importance in other people's lives by the great importance you have granted us in yours. Because people get a mild chuckle over your latest fantasy doesn't mean they are "having a cow." By the way, does anyone else use that phrase besides you and Bart Simpson?

Someone must ... I don't watch TV. Wikipedia: Don't have a cow[^] may refer to:

. a humorous cautionary phrase, dating from the late 1950s at least, possibly of UK origin. Means "don't get so worked up". If one pauses to reflect on the physical aspects of a human being giving birth to a full-grown cow, one can see what this phrase alludes to in terms of emotional expressiveness. Prior to "Don't have a cow", the phrase was "Don't have kittens" (or "Don't have a cat"). A variation in the past tense is also used when someone has already become worked up, e.g. "She had a cow when she found out he'd been smoking." . Bart Simpson's usage of the phrase as a catch phrase in early episodes of The Simpsons. . Also often used by Shaggy from Scooby Doo . Don't Have A Cow, the name of a Halloween episode from the television series That's So Raven. . According to essayist Diana Souhami, in her biography of Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas, Stein used the term to have a cow to refer to her partner's orgasms

Perhaps I learned the phrase from Shaggy; it seems to me that I've known it for most of my life. You poor, pathetic "troll!"

Why are we so important to you, Troy? What makes you spend so much time "mocking" us? Now that you are unemployed, is alternating between insults and posting other people's opinions the only thing that gives meaning to your life?

What are the odds, do you think, that certain persons who pretended to have a cow when I said a few weeks ago that African AIDS are bunk will now endorse that view? Washington Times: Bush AIDS fight saved 1.1M, study says[^] Treatment effort hailed a success

Former President George W. Bush's international AIDS-fighting campaign has reduced by 10 percent the mortality rates in 15 targeted countries, primarily in Africa, and has saved 1.1 million lives, according to a study that for the first time quantified the successes of his program. ...

You claimed that African AIDS statistics are bogus, based on an articles written in 2004. Quote: "And the 'statistics' for AIDS in Africa are as bogus now as then." It was pointed out to you that: The United Nations had admitted to having exaggerated statistics about AIDS in the world; The figures were inaccurate and exaggerated because of flawed methodologies; The methodologies were and are in the public domain, and open to scrutiny; This scrutiny had led to the methodologies being revised, and the figures corrected; And, on the basis of this evidence, the statistics were probably not deliberately falsified, and thus were and are not "bogus". (Bogus implying deliberate falsification.) If correcting you is 'having a cow', guilty as charged.

I am open to correction. So, just how does this article prove that the current UN AIDS statistics are bogus?

I wondered that myself, but decided it was the first article he ran across since the last time he posted a link about aids which was neough of a correlation in his mind

Had you made the effort to read the article "The President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief in Africa: An Evaluation of Outcomes" in the Annals of Internal Medicine[^], you would have discovered that the study was based upon figures that are, according to you, "bunk" and "bogus". Quote: Data Sources The joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) has monitored the Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS by working with individual countries to measure the global epidemiology of HIV and AIDS. We used country and year epidemiologic data obtained through UNAIDS from 1997 to 2007 as the outcome variables for this study. The UNAIDS determines the prevalence trends by using sentinel and population-based surveys. The prevalence estimates, vital registry data, and model-based calculations are then used to determine mortality and the number of people living with HIV.
