Belt-Tightening, White House Style

This morning, President Obama will have a cabinet meeting (He's actually found enough people who haven't cheated on their taxes (or who skated through anyway) to have every Secretary there except Human Services who hasn't been confirmed.) In the meeting he is expected to tell his assembled minions that they absolutely must, must, must cut a total of 100 million dollars from their combined budgets. It is apparent that he has heard loud and clear the message coming from the tea-parties, and is responding to it with much fanfare and attention-calling. 100 million is 1/20th of 1 percent of the deficit his government racked up in the month of March. (MSNBC's figure, not mine and not Newt Gingrich's)
