Sending Pat Toomey, a small campaign donation, but have to see if anyone else is better conservative.

Your going to have to look outside the mainstream republican party for that one.

the asshole proclaimed that the party had gone too far to the right. I quit supporting it for the opposite reason, it has gone too far to the left.
Mike - typical white guy. The USA does have universal healthcare, but you have to pay for it. D'oh. Thomas Mann - "Tolerance becomes a crime when applied to evil." The NYT - my leftist brochure. Calling an illegal alien an “undocumented immigrant” is like calling a drug dealer an “unlicensed pharmacist”. God doesn't believe in atheists, therefore they don't exist.

there is a remote possibility that the GOP has gotten the message, but I doubt it. from this point on conservatives will have to support conservatives regardless of the party.

That is indeed good news. My plan continues to progress quite well.
Chaining ourselves to the moral high ground does not make us good guys. Aside from making us easy targets, it merely makes us idiotic prisoners of our own self loathing.

Good news? It means that any last hope of effective opposition to Obama's plans for the next two years is gone. Specter was far from being my favorite Senator but being glad that it will be that much harder to keep the Dems from doing exactly as they please and that much harder to keep Pelosi from being re-elected in 2010 seems a very effective way of shooting oneself in the foot. Something I have noticed the social conservatives becoming more and more practiced at doing.

The opposition doesn't need to be effective, it simply needs to survive. If the democrat agenda works, than it deserves to be allowed to. If it does not, a staunch, albiet ineffective, resistence will ultimately be far more advantageous than will a more accommodating 'centrist' stance. The more spectacular the failure, the more opportunity to promote a return to a traditional American culture and political system.

I'm afraid the more chance there will be that the USA will simply become a tributary of China - but, if I remember correctly, you regard that as a better option than having a centrist America government.

You gotta believe, Stan. That's all. Just click your heels together three times and say, "I do believe in fairies!"
