I've spent 6 days on watching all of season one. :omg::omg::omg: This show is great! I love it! I think I love it even more than TNG. I can't wait to see the next season episodes. I suspect that Star Trek Enterprise is not only a show... it's a drug! I WANT MORE! Preferred storyline: - I am your father. Search your feelings and you'll know it's the truth. Together we can rule this galaxy like father and son. - Ok dad. Let's kick some butt!

Oh, I've seen all that already. ;) Dallas was ok, Dynasty was not that good. Falcon Crest was ok though! Preferred storyline: - I am your father. Search your feelings and you'll know it's the truth. Together we can rule this galaxy like father and son. - Ok dad. Let's kick some butt!

I know. I think I'll get a lot of that now that I'll come in sync with the "real broadcasts". One show per week should give me approximately 10 minutes of sunshine every week. ;) Preferred storyline: - I am your father. Search your feelings and you'll know it's the truth. I'd rather meditate some with T'Pol. But a patch with the federation logo on it would suffice. ;) Preferred storyline: - I am your father. Search your feelings and you'll know it's the truth. Together we can rule this galaxy like father and son. - Ok dad. Let's kick some butt!

Whilst I admit that Enterprise was a lot better than the rest of the crap Berman's been pumping out since Roddenberry died, I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say I want more. That said, all the other excellent SF/cult TV went WAY down hill this year making the few decent shows look a lot better than they might have done. X-Files (S9) has been awful, though I haven't seen the last three yet. Roswell (S3) has lost it's way completely. Stargate (S6) was good but not as good as it has been. Buffy (S6) and Angel (S3) both had moments but not many. The highlights of TV this season have been new (and barely SF) series Alias and Six Feet Under. (I hear a lot of good things about 24 but I missed the first two and couldn't pick it up, so I'll buy the DVD set) Mutant X might have been good if they weren't all so bloody perfect. Dark Angel took a strange new direction that worked okay. And that's about it. I hope things get better this coming season. Has anyone heard about Jeremiah coming to the UK? Or has anyone seen it in the US? I've been torn on that one whether Straczynski as a writer/director is enough to justify Luke Perry as... I hesitate to use the word... actor! Enough of my ramblings. Paul

Ah Enterprise, a good idea sadly wasted. I don't get the feel of a crew out on it's first adventure. There isn't the rough edge of feeling out on the frontier where everything is a threat and lives could be lost at any second. Michael Programming is great. First they pay you to introduce bugs into software. Then they pay you to remove them again.

Well, considering season one was their first trip 90 light years from earth, there's not as much "threats" as there were in TNG or Voyager (delta quadrant). I'd say this temporal war though is bad enough. But I don't care much for the adventures as much as the characters. I mean, it's Star Trek/Sci Fi after all. They're explorers. They're always being watched by the Vulcans. They travel relatively slow (they maxed out warp 5 in the last episode). The sum of this leaves little room for great variations as in TNG or Enterprise. But the characters though are very interesting indeed. Also since this is a prequel series it also serves as history for the other series. Another thing which I like is that Enterprise every now and then make pretty strong references to earlier episodes which gives a sense of completness. I agree that Enterprise is not TOS, TNG, DS9 or Voyager. But it's great anyway. And I'm hooked. :) Preferred storyline: - I am your father. Search your feelings and you'll know it's the truth. Jörgen Sigvardsson wrote: I'd say this temporal war though is bad enough This is the biggest problem I have with the show. The temporal war is a pointless exercise. The show would have been better if it had just been a bunch of 21st century guys out exploring the final frontier. Bringing the future into it smacks of lazy writing. It's a big galaxy there is no need for time travel. Enterprise has no real relation to the Star Trek universe we know, they've re-invented the past to make it closer to our 21st century tech rather than the 60's camp. Bringing time travel into it, ties the show into established continuity and therefore makes it sit uneasy between TOS and TNG. They would have been better forgetting about calling it Star Trek and just making a space adventure series. Trying to recreate the pioneer spirit of the actual space program, rather than using the Star Trek franchise. Michael Programming is great. First they pay you to introduce bugs into software. Then they pay you to remove them again.
