So it is up to people who died up to 200 years ago to determine how the country should be governed. I take it you don't believe in democracy then?

I don't believe in democracy. I believe in the constitutional republic that people have been fighting and dieing for since its inception.

As a matter of fact, I do. You fought for the country as it existed at the time you fought for it. Those are the values you took human lives to defend.

I'm not sure that Oak can really be blamed. He's got an auto-lock on Stan and Illion and the mere existance of a post from them causes Oak's reflexive nature to kick in and override cognitive reasoning. Of course, I'm now immune thanks to Diego's script. Yippeee!

your criticism doesn't speak well for your rule of law comment. our nation is governed by our Constituition, not men who died 200 years ago. the Constituition doesn't change or evolve except through a defined amendment process.

or prescient. I started listening to Glenn Beck two years ago and said the same thing. Beck was predicting the precise financial meltdown we see today, but I thought he was being paranoid. I don't think it possible to over estimate the extremes that the Obama administration would go to to implement their agenda and it absolutely pays to examine those extremes.

He is a bit behind then. Lots and lots of people have been trying to sound the klaxons for some time but they were ignored. Ron Paul has been bemoaning the acts of the congress to deliberately debase the dollar for at least a decade. James Turk has been warning of inflation instability in the markets for nearly as long as Ron Paul. Ironically, even Robert Kiowsaki who is on the forefront of the housing boom started trying to warn people in '06. He even presented very critical data showing the depreciation of the dollar vs gold vs the silly bull market we were having on wallstreet. Heck, I'll even say that I thought something was coming in '04 just after I left bear sterns. There was some serious employment data that showed a high percentage of new jobs created in this country were around the housing boom. That is some seriously bad juju in such a large contry. I submit that you mention Beck because portions of his philosophy meet yours rather than he having some unique prescient view or even great intelligence.

They can wrap their living-document legal philosophy in a million pseudo-intellectual arguments. But, at the end of the day, it boils down to might makes right. The only thing constraining them then is their own consciences and the regard of their overseas peers -- just as with an oligarchy
