Ok how about this - first time it's run, store the date in the settings. Every next time it's run (an periodically while it's running to prevent people from cheating by never shutting it down) check whether the difference in days between the saved date and the current date is greater or equal than 30. When it finds that to be true, it's up to you what it should do (just shut down? give the option to buy? format c?) People could cheat by changing the date, but I don't think many people would actually do that. edit: I know I'm not supposed to complain about votes, but I really really don't believe this to be a bad answer.
