The point is your head. That wasn't so difficult, now was it?

Robert Bloch (SF Writer, best known for the script of Psycho) said it way better: "I see your point; I saw it as soon as you took off your hat."

If I had said, "How can I not graciously concede your point? -- now that you've so kindly removed your hat." you'd be trying to fault me for being too derivative. Nevertheless, I like what I've just derived; I hope I can remember it the next time it's appropriate. I know *you'll* be using it. Won't you?

Hell no, I already stole the line from Bloch and used it without trying to better it. I certainly would not use yours, it's gramatically awkward and lacking in oompf.

It is not gramatically awkward. It's a stiletto (and it's multi-layered, which is something I like -- it's far more humorous than the original); one isn't required to use a mace at all times.

"Sing, O goddess, the reedy wrath of reedy-thewed Bob, son of P'lese, that brought countless ills upon the b'Achaeans."
Ilíon wrote:
"Sing, O goddess,...Achaeans.
The first line of the Iliad, with modifications:- "reedy wrath" was pathetic - something like "impotent wrath" would have been better (an additional level, a hint of my waning sexual potency?); "reedy-thewed Bob" was better, but the repetition of reedy shows a paucity of imagination._

From you?     No, never._ Sheesh, try to think, here! It is self-evident there was no implication that you could not quote Homer, it was you who introduced him. But let it pass, let it pass.

I'm on to that old trick. I look at the floor to find my hat and you try to steal my point while I'm distracted.
