Hi. I have an external Hard Drive. When I connect it to XP SP3, I can edit each file ( e.g a text file ) easily and without any problems. But when I connect it to Vista Ultimate SP1, I can't edit files and this alert shows http://i43.tinypic.com/21l06bn.png[^] What's wrong ? BTW , I'm dead sure that the path file is correct !!! Thanks

I was going to say that is normal behavior, because starting with Vista, root directories are protected and normal users don't have write access. But the fact that it works on an XP machine means that isn't the cause, because NTFS permissions would take effect no matter what the OS is. Can you create files in other directories on that drive when using Vista?

Yep, I could solve it with changing its permission. Thanks.
