But the entire liberal leftist marketing plan is based on the premise that they are better people; and that if you become one of them, you too will be a better person. But this isn't a liberal leftist marketing plan, it is a cynical marketing plan designed to appeal to liberal leftist adults. It confirms their belief that they are better people, prepared to accept their child's request that they behave in an environmentally responsible manner. If any child were to watch this advert (which is not about toys, sweets, games, etc., has no eye catching visuals or catchy tunes) and be indoctrinated into the state-sponsored envirofascist world view, it will merely be collateral damage. They can't argue that they have better ideas, because, frankly, their ideas stink--particularly this one, which seduces people into believing in the perfectibility of human nature. This belief, without doubt, has caused more human misery and oppression in our world than any other; and is as toxic and lethal today as it was in the last century. "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect" is toxic and lethal?

While what you say about this particular ad is true, I think you're entirely missing the fellow's point.

Stan and his crowd think that the right wingers are better people and anyone who doesn't pass his litmus test should be hounded from the face of the earth. :suss:

By following the links to Educational Psychology, Capitalism and Human Nature, both long posts, I probably bypassed it.

But you even quoted (part of) what he said. He's not talking about the ad; he's talking about the mindset which allows the ad to be effective with certain people. He is, in fact, talking about the same thing you were[^].

Only one? You must be slipping. You're usually good for ten or twelve a day here alone.

Sorry, I supposed that I had missed some other point. But the entire liberal leftist marketing plan is based on the premise that they are better people; and that if you become one of them, you too will be a better person. Aside from the MasterCard advert, then. I doubt that approach would work. Identifying a class as "better people" merely breeds resentment among those that are not of that class. Some may seek to become "better people" by adopting the behaviour of that class, but if they find that behaviour at odds with their personality, they will either lapse or become resentful. (Think of a regular guy having to sit through opera rather than go to the match.) So if that is the liberal leftist marketing plan, then it is probably doomed. Environmental fascism it will have to be, then.
