If you were President of the USA ...

I read a lot of criticism here against the Obama administration, and some of you are even reminiscing about the good ol' Bush administration. So, if you were the President, what would you do to: 1- to end the current crises and reduce USA's debt 2- about the "Axis of evil" countries 3- about the war in Iraq. I know this will probably end in name-calling, but let's give it a chance.

stop spending, stop creating entitlements. Obama recently stated that the USA is broke and the current levels of spending are unsustainable, says it all - I believe him, wish he'd listen to his own words.

Bush was right, but no other country (save Israel) is willing to come to grips with it. I have little doubt that South Korea has more advanced fire power than does the North, let'm go at it it doesn't affect anyone else.

Mike - typical white guy. The USA does have universal healthcare, but you have to pay for it. D'oh. Thomas Mann - "Tolerance becomes a crime when applied to evil." The NYT - my leftist brochure. Calling an illegal alien an “undocumented immigrant” is like calling a drug dealer an “unlicensed pharmacist”. God doesn't believe in atheists, therefore they don't exist.

Exactly. Though, I would suggest sharing some nuclear technology with Iran and the DPRK, air-lifted in without parachutes of course. But your suggestion is more sensible. However, I have a feeling that if Kimmy had his way, Japan would feel plenty of their wrath as well. And as much as I dislike Korea in general, the people of South Korea probably aren't too deserving of what would come at them either.

1. I assume you mean "economic crisis" as opposed to any of the dozen or so other crises you might have meant... Let banks, insurance companies, manufacturers, unions & individuals fail when they make really bad decisions. It's called economic Darwinism and it is required in a market driven capitalist economy. Next, I'd close our borders to all immigration (legal or illegal), deport all illegals and all but eliminate welfare. 2. Leave them alone. If they directly attack us - wipe them off the planet. It's called political Darwinism and it's required when dealing with some cultures. 3. Hand the keys to the Iraqis as soon as reasonably possible and never play World Policeman again.

- Reduce spending. Lower taxes. Eliminate all forms of welfare for able bodied people. Return the federal government to its original constitutional restraints. 2) Declare war, bomb the crap out them, torture like there's no tomorrow, imprison or exile all dessenters. And brag about it. And than claim moral superiorty as a God fearing Christian society, and have a big parade with more bragging and stuff. You know, just like the good ol' days. The American way, and all that. 3) After doing number 2, the Iraq war would be resolved.
Chaining ourselves to the moral high ground does not make us good guys. Aside from making us easy targets, it merely makes us idiotic prisoners of our own self loathing.

I would end all entitlement programs except VA. No more Social Security, Medic-aid/air, all of it gone. Abolish the Federal Reserve and prosecute them. Add a constitutional amendment banning central banks perminatly and forcing the government to maintain the value of the dollar indefinitely. All loans must be paid back even if it takes a lifetime. Banks are only allowed to lend money from their own profits or from accounts such as CDs. End affirmative action, hate-crimes, and laws that make certain people special. Everyone is equal under the law. Enforce border control and slowly tighten up trade with overseas markets to build a diverse productive base in our own land. Taking advantage of child and slave labor in China is wrong. Taxes would be collected proportionately (flat tax) on profits of business. No income tax. No taxes on any particular item such as tobacco, would be good to add to constitution. Marijuana and other drugs legalized. United States would not get involved in other countries business unless they were an immediate threat. Iran would be given the guidelines in which they act toward America and its allies, if they defy then they suffer the consequence. Iraq would be maintained to insure America's power over Iran.

I'd like to cut subsidizes and entitlements. But, I'd also have to make sure that people who were taxed for those entitlements get payed back with interest. Also, I'd try to push congress to take pay cuts and or take unpaid time off until they along with the president balance the budget. Also, I would try to halt all forms of corporate welfare.

If they are truly a threat I'd let them know exactly why we think they are and I'd spell it out for them. But otherwise, I'd prefer that we no project our military they way we have of late.

Since they had a stable and functioning country before we blew it to shit I'd feel the need to get it back to that point.

You know that the North has nuclear bomb and the South doesn't, well then, we know who will win that one.

As President, my powers are limited. But, assuming for the moment that I had a veto-proof congress in my hip pocket, I'd try to: Get rid of all the illegals. That alone would cut the cost of healthcare in this country as well as education and most of the rest of the costs cities incur. Impose a flat tax at 28% for three years (no other taxes, including social security or medicare), with it then dropping in steps to 10% over the following five years. Buy out everyone's share of social security at 7% compounded. End the program - along with Medicare. Cancel the federal health insurance program and tell the employees to find their own. Up the retirement rquirements for a government pension by ten years. Call in all corporate loans and end all corporate welfare, price supports, and foreign aid. Call in all loans to corporations. Lower taxes on corproartion to half of what it is now. Cancel all mutual defense treaties and call our troops home. Cancel all stimulus programs that will not be in full swing by January 1, 2010. Cancel the public debt. Declare Mexico to be a territory of the United States and occupy it. Go back on the gold standard.

Seems like the only way to get impeached is if there's a recording of your crime or if you're doing something with an intern... which way would you go? ;P

Well, I was hoping for impeachment. I guess you're saying that it's assassination or nothing. Oh well. When it's time to go over the bifrost bridge. . .
