Absolutely, but do you really want to fall into the trap of fear and government control? I'd rather see new technology and nuclear power provide answers. This is your fantasy, it has nothing to do with reality, and reality is that you're saying that you don't want people to worry about overpopulation.

Sure, we'd all like that. Where is this new technology going to come from ? Fact is, we have one energy source - the sun. There's no scalable way to use that source to feed, clothe and power us all to first world levels.

While that's our best bet, we have no way to dispose of the waste, especially if we start trying to scale THAT to power the world.

Eugenics was widely accepted at the time. Hitler took it to a logical conclusion. Hitlers rise was mostly the fault of the West, both in the way they treated Germany, and in how they sat by and let him build a power base.

The only solution I can see, is to only allow each couple to have one child. This would quickly drop population levels to managable levels. The way to manage this, is to allow people who don't plan on having children, to sell their rights. That way, people can buy the right to have a second child, and people who have a second child, can be forced through taxes to buy that right. I don't see that happening, but it's the most equitable system I can think of, and without it, we're basically doomed.

Like I said, I don't like it, but it IS the only solution that would actually work. Unless we just kill the poor, and start again from there. Does that work better for you ?

We're back in your fantasy land again. I would like nothing better than a world with no form of government, where people didn't have to pay taxes, where everyone looked out for other people, and people were rewarded by how much effort they put into life, where everyone had the same opportunities, and the same chance to get ahead. In this ideal world, there would be enough food and other resources for everyone, where-ever they lived, and all we'd have to do is let people live their lives. That world does not exist, and wishing it did, won't change that.

OK, so you agree with me then ? Obviously, no right minded person could support the sort of enforced abortions that happened in China, that's why I suggest being able to sell the right to a child, as a way for people to have more than one. But, it's not pretty - nothing is. Fact is, there are too many of us, and too many of us are seeking the sort of energy intensive lifestyle that the West enjoys. There is no reason I can see why they should not have that right, but there's just not enough resources to make that possible.

Welfare is necessary, but it's also often abused. Either way, it hardly addresses the question of where the resources come from.

So now you're trying to get me to agree with your conspiracy theories ? No, I think that some rule of law is needed, to stop humans from ultimately harming themselves. But, I think the minimum level of law needed, is the maximum we should aim for. The issue of over population is the one that I think will lead to greater government control than I would like, either that, or we will just reach a crisis point. I just hope that we don't over farm all our crop lands, so that there's something left for the people who survive to start again. But, it seems most likely that we'll over crop, destroy our arable land, and leave behind a desert.

I suggest all humans be sterilized at birth. If one wants to reproduce that person must go through a rigorous genetic testing procedure. After that person passes he/she can purchase a certified Pregnancy Women (which is a profession) to carry the baby until birth. The community will check the new human every month until the education procedure starts.

Well, actually, I think that people on welfare should probably be sterilised. Given that they only produce more people who spend their lives on welfare.

They are a burden to the local community. The global community has nothing to do with it. We need to either stop them from breeding, or, simply stop paying them to breed. If they had to pay for these kids, they would stop having them.
