I don't know about you, but I've been a toothless moderator in name only form the beginning. The most I could do is bitch to the owner, and I see little point in that anymore. I don't know how most libertarians describe themselves, but I would think that it basically just stands for all possible freedoms allowed under the Constitution with minimal government. However, Intelligent Design sounds great from the title too, until you find out what is really lurking underneath.

I think it's gone well beyond that. I think it's a cultural issue now. I see it more and more everywhere. I see it every day on the road with these inconsiderate morons. I see it at every store. People aren't courteous any more, not even a little bit. That's one of the reasons I really liked living in Japan. They didn't give a damn about you any more than anybody else, but they are at least courteous. They at least understand that for a gazillion people to live harmoniously on a tiny island that you have to be at least nice enough to get along. So yeah, I agree completely, it's a lack of respect. Isn't Craig the only person that can do something about Craig? :laugh:

Japan seems to have figured out that the closer people live to each other, the more polite they need to be. Something the hakujin, for the most part, haven't. I live in the rural south nd have a small place compared to many around me - only an acre. As a result I deal with people only when I choose to and seldom feel put upon. (Once in awhile I have to share a line with some jerk who feels the need to share his phonecall with everyone else.) It's easy to be polite, even friendly in those circumstances. Not like when I lived in a town house in Boston with walls that were shared with my next-door neighbor's house. There, it was possible to hate someone without having ever met them face to face. Robert Heinlein once postulated a society that had re-legalized the code duello and made the license to carry a right not a privilege. It was, he pointed out, an extremely polite society, and was likely to become more and more so since rude people didn't last long enough to breed. ;)
