So I pose the question why are they (Boston cops) arming up?

Because the Hispanic drug dealers already have AK-47's and better body armor than Bush gave the Army in Iraq?

Interesting. Apparently some illegals are suspicious[^]of police crackdown on ms13, cops could be fearful of ms13 and illegal population retaliation. Makes sense. My original sense was they were afraid of the recent acceleration of American citizen gun purchases in last 6 months, but I would have to say MS13 makes a lot more sense, in either case the COPS would have to be discreet in arming up.

If that were my relative the cop's life would be in danger.

Mike - typical white guy. The USA does have universal healthcare, but you have to pay for it. D'oh. Thomas Mann - "Tolerance becomes a crime when applied to evil." The NYT - my leftist brochure. Calling an illegal alien an “undocumented immigrant” is like calling a drug dealer an “unlicensed pharmacist”. God doesn't believe in atheists, therefore they don't exist.

Cops' lives are always in danger... maybe that's why they tend to be a little jumpy?

Prolly not, but I'm sure with your vast law enforcement experience you'll enlighten us with the EXACT procedure to be followed when dealing with belligerent jerks of each and every gender & age category.

They keep the peace, such as it is, far more through intimidation than in shootouts. I'd argue that publicizing their new armament serves their purpose far more than springing it as a surprise when needed. The real answer is not in giving cops more and more firepower, but in obeying the law of the land and allowing the citizens of Boston to arm themselves. Boston is definitely one of those cities where by making it illegal to carry, they've made sure that the illegals carry and the legals don't.

She had already said, "Give me the fucking thing and I'll sign it!" so apparently she was tasered because she used a cuss word, not for refusing to sign the ticket. Last time I looked cops (but not guys who work in the insurance industry like Mike) were supposed to be trained to deal with citizens of each and every gender & age category. If this guy wasn't trained or could not remember his training, then he should burn his uniform and get a job in McDonalds with the rest of the numnuts. He is supposed to enforce the law, not nuke anyone who chooses not to kiss his ass because he's got a badge.

I wasn't trying to justify the cop's actions - I only reminded the guy who threatened the cop's life that cops' lives are always in danger and that dealing with jerks is tricky business.
