Political Parties simplified - "The Hippies" are the left, "The Militia" is the right.

This is how they are manipulating people into thinking that right-wingers are violent idiots, and the left-wingers are the peaceful intellectuals. Since Bush started a war on terror after the twin towers fell shortly after his election, he is deemed a war mongerer after oil, and stupid. So the corporate controlled media (who has owners who "network" or bribe with future leaders with high prospects) uses that as leverage to manipulate people into thinking that right-wingers are stupid, delusional, and greedy, to elect someone like Obama who will "spread the wealth" and inact tough laws (police state).
Obloga Obama Blog[^] Diet, injections, and injunctions will combine, from a very early age to produce the sort of character and sort of beliefs that authorities consider desirable. Any serious criticism of the powers that be will become psychologically impossible.

Thats true. Liberalism grows by never being required to assume responsibility for the problems it creates, and by waiting for the opposition to try to solve complex problems in an imperfect world and than blaming the inevitably less than perfect consequencies on those opponents. It is virtually a full proof plan when aided and abetted by sufficiently well controlled media and educational institutions.
Chaining ourselves to the moral high ground does not make us good guys. Aside from making us easy targets, it merely makes us idiotic prisoners of our own self loathing.

It isn't a two party system though. Its one party with two fractions. It is how the party stays in power. The party has the power behind its two fractions. Though we keep headed "left", they keep moving the right and the left further left proportionately to get us in that state of fascism. The more fascist the better for them. They will take it to the extreme.

Again, I agree. That is precisely why I maintain that the last election was a good thing. The moment of crisis is upon us before it was actually planned for. There is no more incrementalism, no more nudgeing. They are all in. This is the jumping off point for all those who do not want to go further. If enough jump, it means a new party that finally represents true opposition to collectivism. Time will tell.

Unless some major disaster or catastrophe is compounded onto our current state of economic trouble, post 9/11 and katrina, mass global warming delusion, high debt to a communist world superpower, and pandemic. We may be becoming of the day of the nuke and/or plague, a most memorable event for everyone in the world. That is when total control kicks in. One which you cannot escape without sever punishment like nothing else, one enforced by genocide.

Anything can happen. But I think those outcomes were more probable given a continuation of the incrementalism that got us here. There is no longer any secret about what the democrat party is and has been for a long time. That party was taken over completely by socialists in the 1960s and 70s. It is an American Socialist party. That is no longer a secret regardless of all those who will still stand around bleating to the contrary as if thre were still something left to lie about. People who want that can go to them, people who do not can leave. And no this is not a divide between socialism and libertarianism. It is a divide between socialism and traditional American conservatism. Libertarians don't get to play. If they insist on it, than we true conservatives merely stand aside until they get their asses kicked by the socialists. We cannot allow libertarians to hijack American civiliztion in the name of saving it from socialists.

I think libertarians are going to be the overwhelming majority after everyone gets tired of government control.

Consider that all the other libertarians are considering tossing you out of the local community for defying community standards, and you should gain a little understanding of why libertarianism simply does not work. It always degrades into precisely the same set of political gamsmanship as any other political philosophy. Animal farm, indeed. There is only one extant political philsophy that works, and that is the good ol' fashioned American conservatism that we have always had. It worked in the past, and it will work in the future. Nothing else will.

I thought libertarians were about individual freedom and mutual respect.

That sounds wonderful and all, but in the real world somebody has to have the power to define what that means. When they do, you're right back to square one.
