    i have connected 2 computers by a crossover cable(utp cable...cat5).....i can share every ting between z 2 computers ...even i can remotely log on 2 z other computer and vice versa.......but i cant share internet connection .......i have a dial up connection in one of z computers....so hw could i share zis dial up internet connection.......tnx

      You need to use a router. It can be either a wired router or a wireless router. A router basic let you to share internet connection. So each computer can independently operate internet. But it keep in mind if one machine takes most of the bandwidth it does effect on the other computers internet connection. You can do additional search on google as always.

        i think u may still avoid using a router for this purpose. in ur dialup connection's properties last page there's a check box which indicates to allow other computers to be able to connect to the internet and use the connection. u may just click it. since two computers see each others using the cross cable, i think there must be no other necessity. regards

          thank u for ur help ........... I hope it pasts more than 3 months after i post this question ....... So guss what .... I found the problem .... as u said checking that box will not solve z problem .......... if u've 1 xp and 1 Vista running PCs ..... u have to add sth to ur knowlegde that is .... u should have to MERGE the LAN and the dial-up conncetion ..... after that it will perfect Thank you.
