I say it is. Oakman has abused his powers of moderation. It is time for him to relieve himself permanently now that he has his own little private group. His pinned message definitely needs to be unpinned as it has been up for too long and is clearly am abuse of a free and public forum. I started a thread in the Suggestions and Bugs forum and needs your support. Support this to the fullest extent to bring justice to Oakman who's power of moderation has and is being abused. Note that this message has been deleted once, which clearly emphasizes how important it is for his powers be nullified, quickly and permanently.

Obloga Obama Blog[^] Diet, injections, and injunctions will combine, from a very early age to produce the sort of character and sort of beliefs that authorities consider desirable. Any serious criticism of the powers that be will become psychologically impossible.

I despair for the education system. Lots of people in Australia are also dumb as toast, and have no idea how to spell.

Well, I don't think it matters. I think you've got a right to your say, but the people have spoken, this place is a ghost town. Turns out people like to be able to discuss controversial things without having the same couple of people yelling the same things at us all the time.

Here is the reply I added to the thread CSS started: "Apparently CSS, who has consistently violated the TOS and who has defied Chris to do anything about it, now complains that he is getting less than a fair shake. I have presumed that Chris asked me to moderate that forum because he felt that the worst excesses of our two resident trolls needed to be curbed. "CSS's OP assumes that I am the only one with the power to delete messages in what is left of the back Room. This is incorrect. To my certain knowledge, Christian Gaus can do it and, of course, Chris can do it. Christian suggested awhile back that CSS was deleting his own messages in an attempt to discredit him and me. "I freely admit that I have deleted some of CSS's messages simply because they contained little other than a vulgarity-filled personal attack on one cp-ite or another. While the Back Room was designed as a ghetto for those who could not accept the simple rules of the Lounge, Christian and I were not appointed by Chris to do nothing. That my censorship has not been heavy-handed can be seen by anyone who holds his nose long enough to read enough of CSS's extant posts and realise just how vile he can be. "Chris, I serve at your pleasure of course. An argument can be made that with the advent of Soapbox 1.0 there is no longer any need for moderation of the Back Room and it should simply be allowed to fester."

You have been selectively deleting message in a pursuit to harass me and Ilion. If we are not allowed to harass people, than neither are you. You are not above the rules you are supposed to enforce. You and DD have been using The Back Room as a dumping ground to harass two individuals. You and DD's and anyone else who participates in such filth should have their messages deleted as if they were mine or Ilions. The fact that you would delete the above message that does not violate any terms or conditions clearly shows that you are not fit to be a moderator.

Oakman does not constitute as "the people". He is an individual who has abused his powers of moderation of a free and public forum. I have no problem at all with him starting his own private group, but breaking the rules he is supposed to enforce and then abusing the powers entrusted to him by the site's owner should not be tolerated by anyone.

As someone who has been both a game designer and a game moderator, I have had ample evidence that those who are most likely to break the rules are also those who are mostly to: A. accuse others of breaking the rules without proof; B. Scream the loudest if an infraction of the rules disadvantages them. Why, if I were deleting your posts would I allow one where you wish a heart attack on me to stand? Assuming, for the sake of argument only, that I am abusing my power as a moderator, what, in your behavior or in Ilion's, entitles you to expect that Chris or anyone else should give a damn?

You see, I knew you were going to bring up these arguments. I wondered why you would delete my soft posts yet keep the one about you having a heart attack. It is so you can control people's perception of me. This is the major reason why you should not be a moderator. You tinker around to manipulate people's perception so you can stay up on your high horse and poke at the people below you. As far as expecting Chris or anyone else to give a damn, I would assume that he is intelligent enough to understand the situation and to care about his revenue enough not to loose his users because someone is abusing the forums. You come here to harass, the dissenters of your new group, destroy the usability of this forum so the individuals who have been reading in the background or newcomers don't stick around.

But even by your account, I am not abusing the forums - I am, according to you, abusing just you and Ilion. Or are you claiming, again without proof, that I deleted someone else?

SB 1.0 was created as a haven from trolls and it's working out great...thank you for your efforts in setting it up. I think we should stop moderating this forum and let it either die or attract new posters who enjoy being called names and spirited puerile discussions. My suggestion is for everyone who signed up for SB 1.0 to stop coming here. You and Christian might consider removing yourselves as a moderators so you won't have a reason to check-up on this place. I know you didn't ask for my advice, so take it for what it's worth. :)

Well, if you believe that, complain to Chris, as you have. It's his site, he'll respond if he thinks it's being abused.

Thanks, Gary. That's something I am thinking more and more about; I have felt that I owed something to Chris, but maybe the best thing to do would be to walk away and stop being concerned about it.

As I said before I was so rudely deleted. The new forum is not an issue, it is his abuse of this one ( a supposedly free and public forum ).
