Sounds terrible. Imagine, health care might become affordable, and available to poor people. Better just to let them die, and the medical insurance and pharma companies keep you all sick and in debt, right ?

Well, first off I will start by saying that you get what you pay for. Plain and simple. The big pharmaceutical and insurance companies still get the money, and more so now that the government forces it from us and gives it to them. The people that get screwed are the doctors, and the people who are actually paying for it (the people). In a regular system people pay for what they want and they get to choose if they want to go to a doctor that offers this service for that for this price and so on. In the nationalized system bureaucrats determine what you get, how you get it, how much you get, and how much its going to cost. Older folk or cancer patients who might not live through treatment don't get the proper care that they need because the government has to ration out the services. It doesn't matter if they want to pay for it, they are in the nationalized system where the bureaucrats tell the doctors what care he can give his patients or else he don't get paid. Private doctors are not permitted. Once nationalized health care establishes its nasty roots, the government will have every right to dictate what we can eat, enforce mandatory vaccination, and anything else that might be health related. An addition %2.5 minimum income tax will be imposed, sugar, salt and fat taxes also. Employers will be required to provide insurance to the employees or else they will be fined %8 of their income. 40 million illegal aliens will get free care without paying the income taxes. We are not in a situation to be extending welfare, we are bankrupt. In 1965, Medicare was predicted to cost $26 billion in 2003; the actual cost that year was $245 billion. Medicare's unfunded liability currently hovers around $40 trillion. This is not the American way, I don't care if you love your socialized system. This is America and its going to have to be returned to its original status. Social Security, Medicare/aid, foodstamps all have to go, along with the Federal Reserve and the crooks who feed off of it. We let the FedRes establish itself in 1913, it and the corporations and government that grew up around it deprive us of everything we have. This Health bill is just another round of theft and power grabbing.

Not true. I am sure there are good doctors in the US, but the one I paid $500 would not have been allowed to practice here. Our medical care is every bit as good as the US. It's more, if you give the fox the key to the henhouse, it's not hard to guess the result.

Not really. The market chooses a price, and people who cannot pay, are allowed to die.

Really ? This system is based on Canada and not on Australia ? I have private health insurance. It costs me $200 a month for me and my family. I can afford it, and it does give me faster access to care. We have a two tiered system. The rich are still better off, in some ways, but everyone has access to a good standard of care.

No, a lot of people have no choice at all, health insurance is super expensive, and so is care.
