Shog9 wrote: There *are* other issues... The problem is that the they always find a reason that circumcision *needs* to be done. They then have a couple of years to continue circumcising until those "reasons" are dispelled. For example the issue with the cancer of the penis has been dissmissed with the American Cancer Society issuing a letter that circumcision should not be done to prevent cancer! http://www.fathermag.com/health/circ/acs/[^] Then came the circumcision prevents AIDs fiasco. They claimed that AIDs could be prevented from spreading due to circumcision. It was later found that in Industrialized countries, the United States has the highest Aids rate in the world, and that circumcision has not protected the US population compared to European and other non-circumcising countries. http://www.nocirc.org/statements/hiv_statement2001.html[^] Then came the study that circumcision prevented women from getting cervical cancer. It turns out that that was also wrong. It turns out that STDs are the culprit. Finally, the American Academy of Pediatrics said that babies don't feel pain. They were wrong about that too. In fact, several studies were halted because circumcision was deemed unethical without pain medication!!!! But the majority are still circumcised without ANY form of pain control. http://www.cnn.com/HEALTH/9712/23/circumcision.anesthetic/[^] As you can see, the facts speak for themselves. It seems that the AAP is using pseudo-science to make up reasons to continue this barbaric pratice, and it takes a couple of years to prove them wrong, but then they find another reason. Did you know that they said that circumcision prevents masterbation in the early 1900's? So you are right the facts do speak for themselves. :)

In 2001, the American Cancer Society released a statement asserting that circumcision cures lung cancer. http://www.cancer.org/sbt/circ.html[^] This followed hot on the heals of the discovery of a startling link between circumcision and mad raquette ball skills. http://www.raquetteballworld.org/tips/circumcision.html[^] Finally, the National Pork Producers Council released a study this spring, indicating men who had been circumcised as children are up to 120% better at Barbecuing Ribs http://www.nppc.org/studies/circribbies.html[^] As you can see, the facts speak to themselves, often for hours, usually in dark corners. It seems that there is a nation-wide conspiracy to hide the many benefits provided by circumcision, and force us to live as uncut savages. Did you know that they said circumcision prevents masterbation in the early 1900's? So for every child left uncut today, someone else is wacking off 100 years ago. :~ Shog9 ------ If you really what to get shitfacde tell a crowded bar that is is yourt borthday and hife your wallet. you ka will many more friends.

A rather odd topic to keep cropping up on a dev site. However, while I know very little about the issue (not having a fetish about it myself), I have heard that while it is performed on males in the interests of hygiene, it permanently cripples females, taking all sensation away. The following statement about your geekness is true.
The previous statement about your geekness is false. -

I thought it was practiced :omg: in hot dry regions to prevent sand and grit getting to the more tender places... But nowadays we have tighter fitting clothes, so don't have to worry about that kind of thing.... B.

:omg: Nightmare. Please could you remove the video link? It is very bad-feeling. I am sick all along after I acsidently watch the video. this is my signature for forums quoted from shog*9: I can't help but feel, somewhere deep within that withered, bitter, scheming person, there is a small child, frightened, looking a way out.
Get over it - how cna you accidentally watch a video that is clearly marked as a circumcision and not realise what it was? "Oh no there was a knife in that kitchen drawer and I cut myself - please remove the kitchen." :|

The previous statement about your geekness is false.Of course, Martin's argument is that it also perminantly cripples males as well. In any case, the comparison is pointless; either a case can be made against male circumcision on its own, or a case cannot be made at all. Statements contrasting male and female circumcision have value only in producing shock, thus drawing the discussion away from any valid arguments and casting doubt on what might otherwise be a valid point. Martin should be ashamed for stooping to this level in his attempt to achieve... whatever end it is he's trying for.
