...the American police, to be more precise: FBI probe into Police beating[^] Now I've always thought that I could never be a Policeman 'cause I'd always want to give someone a good kick in for being a numpty. But on the other hand they are the upholders of the law and they should set the right example - and IMO, three to four officers piling in dealing multiple punches and kicks to a bloke restrained on the ground isn't really my idea of good policing.

Power corrupts. Fact of life. Honestly I'm surprised that with all the power given to them, MOST of the cops still seem to be decent people.
Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in? Developer, Author (Guardians of Xen)

True. My old man was a copper (god rest his soul), and he always said that he went to work everyday with the scum of the earth (that's the criminals BTW not his fellow officers).

Police officers have petty power. They are the lowest in the chain of power. Think about the people who have real power, the ones who control the money supply and the economy, the ones to control entire armies, the media moguls who dictate what we see, hear, and read on the TV, radio, and internet sites. Think about the ones who dictate what we learn in school, and the ones who control healthcare in some countries.
