I just tried this for the first time... YEEUCH! I mean, it's not gross or anything, but it tastes like freakin' fruit juice. I can barely even taste the alcohol (not that there's much there, it's only 5%). [edit]Here in the US, we get a different version of the drink (no vodka) than the rest of the world. That sucks, too.[/edit] --Mike-- Just released - 1ClickPicGrabber - Grab & organize pictures from your favorite web pages, with 1 click! My really out-of-date homepage Sonork-100.19012 Acid_Helm

Yeah... I don't really see the appeal of all these new not-quite-soft drinks. Vodka mixes well with many different liquids, if you really can't stand to drink your juice/coffee/lemonade/milk without some alcohol in. Or be honest about it and drink cider. Personally, i blame the lack of flavor in popular "lite" beer for this trend. X| Shog9 ------ If you really what to get shitfacde tell a crowded bar that is is yourt borthday and hife your wallet. you ka will many more friends.

It's very very big over here. Have it on draught over here... don't know if they have it over there. Black Smirnoff Ice is very nice. Personally I think Smirnoff Ice isn't the best and at €5 a pint [Guinness/Stouts are about €3.40 and other pints about €3.75 in a pub and €4.20 in a club] it's a bit steep. Regards, Brian Dela :-)

Ice doesn't even have vodka here... the US gets some weird watered-down "malt beverage" crap. Shog9 wrote: Or be honest about it and drink cider. I love it. :) I can't tolerate any lager or beer. Plus, my local does a £1 a bottle night. I can get so drunk that I become temporarily blind for £10. :D

Hmmm... did you try the original with a red label, or the new Black? The new Black is not as nice as the original, which has more of a refreshing lemony taste  The following statement about your geekness is true.

I see you are talking about the US version (I hear it is comparable to three day old warm beer?), the RoW version is really quite drinkable though nothing really special. I agree with Brian tohugh - Black Ice is really very nice indeed, and from the label I assume it is basically the same recipe but with Smirnoff Black and less "cloudy" food dye. I could be wrong though, I never did bother to ask what was in it. Black Ice is to Smirnoff Ice what carbonated spring water is to tap water.

Odd thing though, once when I was in the states I bought a Labatt Blue (Canadian beer) and nowhere on the label could I find the % of alcohol. Of course I couldn't refuse free beer, so I drank it, but wow, there was no flavour at all. Odd thing though, once when I was in the states I bought a Labatt Blue (Canadian beer) and nowhere on the label could I find the % of alcohol. BTW, I stole/borrowed the margin-bottom tag from your sig. :-O
