Well if I asked the question Christian did and someone responded with something that was central to my life I'd probably be a little put out. Actually, no-one said how we'd solve overpopulation. In a world of magic, the ideal way would be to create a way to generate enough food and energy for everyone. It's only if that's not possible, that the options are obliteration, and some sort of population control.
