Just wondering if anyone has come across this problem. We recently installed a Watchguard Firebox, set up for SSL VPN at work. The office is on a 192.169.1.n ipaddress range, as am I at home. Various others are as well. Most people connect with no problems (the SSL VPN deals with any possible ipAddress conflict). I however cannot connect. I even downloaded the latest OpenVPN client on which the Watchguard client is based, and get the same problem, in fact worse. I can configure it to connect but the connection drops again immediately. I tried two different machines, and then my sister came round so I tried hers. Hers worked! Here is what I found, after repeated install on multiple test machines. It works on Vista It works on Windows 7 It does not work on Windows XP I tried XP with no service pack, with SP1, SP2 and SP3. clean installes with only the VPN client installed, and all to no avail. I am upgrading, sadly, to Windows 7, but I want to know why XP does not work! Can't find a solution on the OpenVPN forums, or anywhere else. Well, I tried all the solutions I could find but none worked. I am more than happy to test any ideas anyone has, and maybe together we can find a solution so that others do not have the same disaster on their hands.
