Hi, There seems to be efforts around standardizing BioMetric integrations, does anyone here have some first hand experience in this? We are looking at using fingerprint scanners, would hate to have to code by manufacturer / vendor...

Hi, What exactly do you want to do with the fingerprint readers? Most manufacturers / vendors have their own ways for doing things, but so far I haven't come across two or more manufacturers / vendors using the same standard for their API. It would be nice though... :)

Well for now I just want to get a fingerprint... We are looking at a public silverlight website and with SL4's COM availability I was hoping for a "general" COM API to a fingerprint reader connected to the machine... I thought my hopes were not too far fetched based on the following web pages: http://www.bioapi.org/[^] http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/Xplore/login.jsp?url=http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/iel5/2/17784/00820046.pdf&authDecision=-203[^] http://www.iosoftware.com/Documents/The%20Biometric%20Standard.pdf[^]
