Yes, I was in Australia when Martin Bryant went nuts in Tassie. While I personally thought the terms of the gun buy back were onerous in some contexts and it was by no means handled properly by the Police (in NSW at least), It is without doubt that it made a huge change to crime rates. Unfortunately, Sydney and Melbourne are awash with hand guns, mostly being brandished by young 'wanna-be' 'merican gangstas. (But too gutless to shoot each other  ) What I find disturbing is that the US shooting today was 15% of Australias total annual gunshot deaths, and the victim count was relatively light compared to others.

Yeah, no matter how you slice it, these mass shootings do away with the 'per capita' comparisons, on the basis that we don't have them at all, since the buy back, and we had them so rarely before ( some of those 13 have to have been gang wars, I don't see how else the number could get that high ), and in one fell swoop, then kill a significant percentage of all the deaths we have in a year.

Unfortunately, if they banned guns in the US a significant number of F___wits wouldn't get shot.

If the people claiming that gun buybacks cause crime and gun deaths can be shown to be liars, if the people claiming that airport scanners are taking full body nude pictures are proven to have known they are lying, then what sort of moron would continue to believe these sort of conspiracy theories ?

Someone who's not been able to get on in life in the way they thought so rather than fixing it or accepting that they have their limits, comes up with other explanations as to why they are unable to achieve their goals. Acceptance is usually the harder option but sometimes you just have to accept that you cannot build a Cold Fusion Powered Rocket Pack Propelled Iron Man suit in your garage because you're not Tony Stark.

You throw (i.e. "argue") like a girl. And, we've all seen how you "prove" that someone is a liar -- you assert it, and that settles it. But then, since you are yourself intellectually dishonest, I guess it stands to reason that that method works for you.

Every time you play the 'intellectual dishonesty' card, we all know that you have no faith in, or evidence for, whatever it is you are propounding.

Still rankles, eh? Perhaps if you had not constantly resorted to 'Silly child', 'kiddies', 'intellectual dishonesty', and asterisks, and actually argued rationally, you would not have been considered a gnat that needed swatting.
