Yes, even Oakman has admitted that he wonders if Chris knew this would happen and that's why he said yes to his idea to start his own fiefdom.

Football hooligans spoil it for genuine football supporters. As was the case here, so to speak.

Oakmans own formum makes sense. Its the old SB, but non public, by invite only. So all the old crowd bacisally. Except Illion and CSS thank god. Oh, and by the way, you probably know why people like Lomberg although scpetical, give some creedence to AGW theory? Its a kind of stock disclaimer, added to many scientific publications in order to ensure publication. You see it a lot. There was on recently about CO2 actually making some molluscs shells thiker, but the piece ended with "the bottom line is, we need to reduce CO2 emissions". And this despite that logically it ran counter to the whole study. Thats why Lomberg starts each chapter with a little precis of AGW and how those affects will be damaging. This is why I dont believe there is any middle ground between sceptics and AGW alarmists.

What killed it seem to be Oakmans continual assults on CSS. I think the personal nature got to much for Chris and he pulled the plug. He did used to lay into a few people quite heavilly, Ravel suffered a bit too.

I'm not sure there is any profit left to be had by pointing fingers. What has happened has happened. Shame, but there you go. Next topic?

I stopped posting/replying here because it's become a CSS personal blog mostly. The topics rarely change and most debate degenerate into personal vendetta
