Lets look up the official defintion of /bourgeoisie[^] middle class; also plural in construction : members of the middle class Communism is about keeping the rich and powerful rich and powerful. Communism is total slavery.

Communism actually has never been practised on earth, because that is not it's goal, in theory. In practice, power corrupts. I'd expect you to know this because it plays right into a lot of the things you love to talk about.

I meant bourgeois in the classical Marxist context. I Marx's time this meant the middle classes, which is why he used it. As society has changed, the definition of "middle class" has expanded to include pretty much anyone with a white collar job. This has two effects: 1. Most of the "Middle class" no longer hold power, power has been concentrated in the "fat cats": The new bourgeois 2. The "Middle class" now form the greater part of the new proletariat, even though they don't realise it. As far as I can tell most of your posts can be interpreted as: 1. Raising awareness about the repressive fat cats and capitalism 2. The capitalist system is corrupt and unfair. 3. In the interest of equality, make moves to change the current system so the normal people can take back charge --- or in terms of classical communist theory ---- 1. The dialectical and materialist concept of history 2. The critique of capitalism 3. Advocacy of proletarian revolution Christian Graus is wron in describing you post as proto-communist IMO, it is crypto-communist

He read it, but, somehow, does not agree. He seems like a decent guy, so I assume he's genuinely thinking that the classic definition of communism, that was basically it's sales pitch, is used here as a criticism.

you may be onto something there... lol The thing with this story is that it's about power corruption in government AND corporations. That's why I believe that he was just trying to summarize it with those two lines against both communism and capitalism. I mean, to me, they seem like attacks. Communism sounds good on the surface, but in practice it doesn't work. The IRS steals from the productive sector and gives it to the non productive sector. Capitalism steals from the non productive AND the productive to give to the greedy non productive. That's what I see.
-
And here's the summary! 1) Man tries to outsmart IRS (Legally). Makes mistakes, gets audited, gets fined 2) Tax code changes, removing loophole man was using to save on taxes. Man gets pissed and tries to get it changed back. Spends lots of money he can't afford to spare. 3) Economy goes south (As it tends to do now and then), man gets screwed, has no backup because spent entire life savings on tax evasion and campaigning 4) Ten years later, economy goes south again (.com bubble burst), man almost goes bankrupt again 5) Man moves to Texas, unemployed, makes ANOTHER mistake on his taxes by not filing at all, gets audited and fined 6) Man learns lesson, hires uninsured accountant (Oops!). Accountant screws up. Man gets audited and fined again 7) Man has nervous breakdown 8) Man sets house on fire, with family inside 9) Man flies plane into IRS building The guy was a software engineer, a contractor working on airplanes... Hmm... Did he ever consider... Oh, I don't know... Trying another part of the industry? I mean, after the first two times he got screwed because the airline industry went broke, you think he'd adapt. Anyway... He screwed up his taxes three times, he got screwed by three recessions and a divorce, and he went ballistic and crashed a plane into a building. Not sure whether to cheer him on, pity him, or just not care. Granted, he started out wrong, but in the end, it sounds like he mainly just got screwed.

Agreed. But, his post, to me, is comparing the two and attacking capitalism only. Does he say anything anti communist in the body of the piece ? If not, then I think I am right, he's comparing the two and saying which he prefers.

Yes, they do that here, too.

No, you are changing definitions to prop up your failing argument. You are done. I am in absolutely no way for welfare or big government. PERIOD! Its real simple. PROPERTY RIGHTS. PERSONAL LIBERTY. Those two things can be expanded to include every detail you could ever think of. Everybody has property rights and personal liberty, you cannot trample on other people's property rights or personal liberty nor can they trample on yours. Its a decentralized self-balancing system.

No, he's using the definitions that we used by the people who invented communism. I think they get a say in defining communism.

This is the last words of the guy who stole a plane and crashed it into the IRS building in Austin. It came from here[^] but it has just been disabled. Well Mr. Big Brother IRS man... take my pound of flesh and sleep well. If you’re reading this, you’re no doubt asking yourself, “Why did this have to happen?” The simple truth is that it is complicated and has been coming for a long time. The writing process, started many months ago, was intended to be therapy in the face of the looming realization that there isn’t enough therapy in the world that can fix what is really broken. Needless to say, this rant could fill volumes with example after example if I would let it. I find the process of writing it frustrating, tedious, and probably pointless… especially given my gross inability to gracefully articulate my thoughts in light of the storm raging in my head. Exactly what is therapeutic about that I’m not sure, but desperate times call for desperate measures. We are all taught as children that without laws there would be no society, only anarchy. Sadly, starting at early ages we in this country have been brainwashed to believe that, in return for our dedication and service, our government stands for justice for all. We are further brainwashed to believe that there is freedom in this place, and that we should be ready to lay our lives down for the noble principals represented by its founding fathers. Remember? One of these was “no taxation without representation”. I have spent the total years of my adulthood unlearning that crap from only a few years of my childhood. These days anyone who really stands up for that principal is promptly labeled a “crackpot”, traitor and worse. While very few working people would say they haven’t had their fair share of taxes (as can I), in my lifetime I can say with a great degree of certainty that there has never been a politician cast a vote on any matter with the likes of me or my interests in mind. Nor, for that matter, are they the least bit interested in me or anything I have to say. Why is it that a handful of thugs and plunderers can commit unthinkable atrocities (and in the case of the GM executives, for scores of years) and when it’s time for their gravy train to crash under the weight of their gluttony and overwhelming stupidity, the force of the full federal government has no difficulty coming to their aid within days if

I'd want a link to a not obviously biased and insane site before I drew conclusions. However, it's entirely possible that this is true. The questions are, what compensation was he offered for his land ( that governments compulsoraly acquire land when they need it is nothing new ), and are you mad enough to try to claim that this means that the government is going to go after land in general around Australia, and, what is the point you're trying to make ?

Yes, let us... 2 : a social order dominated by bourgeois Oh, wait, you left that part out? Why? Oh, see that last word, bourgeois, it had a link... bourgeois[^] 1 : of, relating to, or characteristic of the townsman or of the social middle class 2 : marked by a concern for material interests and respectability and a tendency toward mediocrity 3 : dominated by commercial and industrial interests : capitalistic #1 can be considered the middle class. #2 is hey, greedy people... Oh look at #3.... Capitalists. Let's look at the origins of the word. In the 1500s you had 3 classes effectively. The upper, middle and lower. The upper class was aristocracy. People in power because their parents were. Middle was the townspeople who owned the businesses. They had power and money because of this. Once the industrial revolution showed up these folks were responsible for a large portion of the misery inflicted on the lower class. After all, why pay someone decently when it hurts your profits? Lower was the factory and field workers. They had little to no money because they were not paid much and had to scrape by. The rich and powerful ARE the bourgeois. Nice job linking something and ignoring the part that kills your argument.

Since you were so kind to link something you consider a source... Communism[^] 1 a : a theory advocating elimination of private property b : a system in which goods are owned in common and are available to all as needed 2 capitalized a : a doctrine based on revolutionary Marxian socialism and Marxism-Leninism that was the official ideology of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics b : a totalitarian system of government in which a single authoritarian party controls state-owned means of production c : a final stage of society in Marxist theory in which the state has withered away and economic goo
