-
Dr John Breeding, a prominent psychologist, reveals the pseudoscience behind ADHD, attention deficit disorder, and the myth of antidepressants.[^] John Breeding, Ph.D., has been a psychologist for over 25 years, working with adults, children and families in Austin, Texas and around the world. He offers a variety of services in his Austin office, by telephone, or in various speaking or workshop arrangements in your won community. He is also director of Texans For Safe Education, a citizens group dedicated to challenging the ever-increasing role of psychiatry, especially psychiatric drugs, in the schools. Dr. Breeding is also active on other challenges of psychiatric oppression, including electroshock, and the psychiatric drugging of elders in nursing homes. ADHD is wildly over diagnosed, mostly because doctors are scared not to give bad parents drugs to sedate their undisciplined kids. Drug companies love it because they make money. This is what happens when the market is allowed to work without intervention from government to stop fraud. You will have to explain his point with relation to anti depressants, and go on to explain how this guy is more qualified than the legions of psychiatrists who would put you on some sort of medication if you were willing to get help for your obvious problems. There is no way I have an hour of my life to dedicate to your insane conspiracy theories. Also, why is it that you can't present written sources ? Why can't people just read anymore ? I found what looks like a transcript. "And a scientific fact is what [when it comes to chemical imbalance and ADHD]? That there is no objective test, there is no physical or chemical abnormality that’s defined." Wrong. Perhaps this is true in the US, where the government is bought by the pharma companies, but I doubt it. My son has DONE the tests which diagnose ADHD. In fact, we're just doing another round of questionaires that amongst other things, quantify and define ADHD. We already know he's on the spectrum of ADHD, we were offered Ritalin for him 2 years ago. We are lucky, we are educated and we have the money to pay for good specialists. She asked us about Ritalin, but she did not recommend it, and I categorically stated he would only go on it as a last resort. She suggested a number of more benign steps, the most successful of which was cutting out artificial colors, esp. anything that's artificially yellow. He also cannot eat chocolate, unless it's white, cannot have soft serve ice cream, can only have McDonalds if they leave off the ketchup and mustard, etc. Thing is, it took dedicated parenting and hard work, to work out over time what his triggers were, and to continually make sure they don't appear in his diet. It's far easier for lazy parents who don't discipline their kids to decide their kid has ADHD when they probably don't, go to the GP, and demand Ritalin. The doc knows if he says no, he'll lose the business and some other doc will say yes, so they fold. None of this is a conspiracy to 'drug dissident children', it's a combination of laziness and greed. Like Autism, you're picking the wrong person to make ignorant comments to about ADHD. My wife works in the field, I have a son who has issues in this area, I've read a lot about brain science. I'll

Have you thought about seeing a specialist about your personality disorder characterized as The Dark Triad? The Dark Triad of personalities is a group of three personality deficiencies: narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy. Given your tendencies to be utterly manipulative, desire for depopulation and support for tyranny, and your "ME ME ME MINE I" tendencies, and your lust for child pornography, I suggest you seek help immediately.

These are the deliberate lies that cause me to have no respect for you. But, it's a cool way to try to deflect attention from the fact that I just presented a response to the link you posted that is well beyond your intellectual capacity to respond to.

I think you should show people the youtube videos you made. I've considered showing them directly to a local psychiatrist along with a link to these forums, to see if it's enough for a diagnosis. Doesn't change the fact that anyone who reads this can see that you love to post links and look like you're so smart, and then go into attack mode to disguise your inability to discuss any 'points' you raise.

*blush* parenting is hard work. I guess the point I'm making is that people who are not willing to work that hard for their kids, should really reconsider having them. The other thing I think most parents do not realise is that it's not your job to be your kids best friend. It's your job to teach them how to become a rational, reasonable adult, capable of interacting with and contributing to society. That's obviously one of the things CSS has lacked, parents willing to do their job. I am happy to say I am good friends with both my kids, but that's because they respect the fact that they are treated consistently and encouraged to live up to a reasonable standard of behaviour. They know if I have to choose between being their friend and being their parent, I'll have no choice but to be the parent, and that it's their actions that force that choice on to me.

I am truly sorry that yours appear not to have done so for you. I am the product of absent parenting tho, there's no reason why you can't rise above the poor examples of your youth and make something of your life.

I would love to have a reasonable discussion. However, reasonable discussion is impossible with the likes of you as you are a narcissistic Machiavellian psychopath/sociopath.

Rubbish. Reasonable discussion starts by talking reasonably. You never address any points I raise, you just call me names. That's not reasonable, nor is it a reflection on me when you do that. This is another example of your delusional fantasy land. You convince yourself that you're presented your facts clearly, and I'm the one who has been unable to respond, because it reenforces your fantasy of being some sort of intellectual, instead of a druggie burn out desperately looking for some sort of validation, but going about it all the wrong way. I do wonder if you realise how rarely I try to insult you and how often I try to show you the genuine need you have for professional help.

Symptoms of ADHD[^]. The presence of six or more of the nine[sic] symptoms of hyperactivity, impulsivity and inattention are necessary for a diagnosis. This would mean that all the kids I was at school with (except the biddable minority) exhibited symptoms of ADHD. It is the job of the teacher to cope with this.

Well, if it is anything like the laundry list of disparate symptoms linked to above, he would be.

So, does your son exhibit Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) symptoms due to a chemical imbalance of the brain, or due to a reaction to processed foods? Are the children of the poor, whose diet generally contains a higher percentage of processed food, routinely given drugs, rather than advice on an improved diet?

Yes, ADHD and being a young boy definitely have a crossover, if looked at as a list of symptoms. That's one reason that so many lazy parents just want to drug their normal kids.
Bob Emmett wrote:

No, it's not. Those symptoms don't provide a diagnosis, they provide a trigger for more detailed testing, which then provides a diagnosis. A bit like persistent stomach pain may be an indicator of cancer, but does not provide a diagnosis, only a reason to do testing.
Bob Emmett wrote:
So, does your son exhibit Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) symptoms due to a chemical imbalance of the brain, or due to a reaction to processed foods?
This is not a dichotomy. It's because of how his brain is structured that he has the reaction he does to specific foods, which then enhances his AD like symptoms. The same as the pills that make your grandfather feel better, can kill you, because you start off from a different point, physically. Incidentally, another part of his problem was a poor school environment. He was in a big class and recieved little to no positive feedback, having been labelled as a troublemaking kid. We moved him to a smaller school around the time we started the diet control and the two together changed his school life to be almost the entire opposite of what it was.
Bob Emmett wrote:

Well, advice on a good diet is everywhere, but people both don't care, or keep buying the processed food b/c it's cheaper. My wife knew someone whose children, from birth, had Coke in their sippy cups. Some people are just plain ignorant, and sometimes, that's part of the reason they are poor. I'm not saying that all kids who are ADHD can be controlled via diet, Calvin is on the spectrum, but not enough to be an extreme case. So, you mix bad diet ( which can be a trigger ) with lazy parents, who also show their laziness in not providing structure, which can also create behaviour from yo
