Nope, firewalled at work. Funny, though, that no one besides Alex Jones would pick up on this, huh? Have YOU actually listened to the speech, or are you just taking Uncle Al's word for it?

I listened to it. It was extremely boring, same ol' global warming is going to kill us all so we must kill ourselves first BS.

Way to evade the question. Did you listen specifically to the part where he SUPPOSEDLY advocates population control? What did he say exactly?

Yes, he said that sterilizations are one of the main solutions to carbon emissions.

Found a link with what seems to be an actual quotation: “if we do a really great job on vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we could lower that [his initial 2050 global population projection of 9-billion] by perhaps about 10 to 15 percent.” Sounds like he used some really stupid wording... "reproductive health services" = Codename for abortion clinics Either that, or it's an incomplete quote, taken out of context, and I'm not seeing the real point.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates told a recent TED conference, an organization which is sponsored by one of the largest toxic waste polluters on the planet, that vaccines need to be used to reduce world population figures in order to solve global warming and lower CO2 emissions. ... “I’m not sure what the nothing-to-see-here explanation is for Bill Gates’ theory that “new vaccines” can help lower the population of the world,” points out the Cryptogon blog[^], “But I thought about the incidents from the 1990s where the World Health Organization was providing a “tetanus vaccine” to poor girls and women[^](and just poor girls and women) that contained human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG). For those who don’t want to delve into that, in short, it was a World Health Organization experiment; a test of a vaccine against pregnancy.” ... Later in the presentation, Gates mentions picking a vaccine, “which is something I love,” that would be used to lower global CO2 emissions. He also advocates pouring more money into the global warming scam by way of the United Nations, as well as a “CO2 tax” and cap and trade, while making it clear that the developed world would have to reduce its living standards by cutting back on essential services that generate CO2. Gates said that a 20 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions was necessary by 2020, a 50 per cent reduction by 2050, and ultimately that there had to be zero CO2 emissions globally, a measure that would completely reverse hundreds of years of technological progress and return man to the agrarian age, all in the name of preventing an alleged miniscule temperature increase that has been proven to be based on fraudulent data models in light of the Climategate scandal. You are an idiot. People who have a better guarentee of infant survival, tend to breed less. People in the 3rd world who breed to excess, tend to do so for insurance, because they know at least some of their kids will die.

First we've got population. Now, the world today has 6.8 billion people. That's headed up to about nine billion. Now, if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we could lower that by, perhaps, 10 or 15 percent, but there we see an increase of about 1.3. Badly phrased, but I don't read that as 'vaccines for birth control', any more than I read 'health care for birth control'. Except in as much as studies show family sizes are reduced when infant mortality decreases. But I am aware of your conditioning, so I shan't argue the point.

OK, I accept you don't get nuanced, but do you really not get plain English? So this is a wish. It's a very concrete wish that we invent this technology. If you gave me only one wish for the next 50 years, I could pick who's president, I could pick a vaccine, which is something I love, or I could pick that this thing that's half the cost with no CO2 gets invented, this is the wish I would pick. Let me put it more clearly for you: 1. I could pick who's president; 2. I could pick a vaccine; 3. I could pick this thing that that's half the cost with no CO2 gets invented. ('This thing' being a means of providing energy.)

No. He said we had to aim to generate [the] energy [that] we need to provide existing and new services with zero CO2 emissions. Nathan Myhrvold and I actually are backing a company that, perhaps surprisingly, is actually taking the nuclear approach. There are some innovations in nuclear, modular, liquid. And innovation really stopped in this industry quite some ago, so the idea that there's some good ideas laying around is not all that surprising. The idea of Terrapower is that, instead of burning a part of uranium, the one percent, which is the U235, we decided, let's burn the 99 percent, the U238. It is kind of a crazy idea. In fact, people had talked about it for a long time, but they could nev

You'd think so, but in fact, he's just an ignorant sheep who believes whatever he is told to. I have no doubt that in his mind, it's not a lie, because he's not smart enough to understand what he said. That's why he posts long text pieces pasted from websites, and attacks anyone who tries to discuss them.

Yes, I did watch it some time ago. I think it's been up on the TED site for about 3 weeks now. Nowhere does he mention killing off population. Rather the opposite. If I recall correctly, he takes a growing population into account, rather than letting people die. He also talks about lowering CO2 by means of nuclear energy, and how nuclear waste could be reused to produce non lethal waste. What idiots like fat_boy and CSS forget, is that carbon is a pretty useless power source, as the most potent source for it (oil) is a finite resource. That problem needs to be solved, and from what I can tell, Bill Gates and his foundation is on it. I do sense dishonesty in Gates though. Not that he's an elite skull & bones member that wants to eat our children. No, he's in it for the money. If you solve the problem of ridding ourselves of the dependency on carbon as a power source, then you are going to become really rich. There's big money to be made in that! As always, new tech will not be available to the third world until... well, until someone pays for it. Regardless, it will be interesting to see what Bill & friends come up with. :)

No you didn't listen to it. You may have heard it, but with your brain being so conditioned by Uncle Al and his ilk, you totally misunderstood it. You are an addlepated buffoon if you believed that Bill Gates, whose fortune rests on an increase in information services, wishes to return to an agrarian age.

Yes, he said that sterilizations are one of the main solutions to carbon emissions.

This is a LIE, having just listened to the speach he only mentions vaccines in passing and make no reference to as to any use of vaccines at all. his point is that he and others belive in GW and in his opinion the world requires to do xy and z, and proposes a possible solution, one that given the R&D work could provide cheap non Co2 producing energy (and as a byproduct remove the current nuclear waste stockpile) - and he specific mentions that even if they are wrong about GW then this source of cheap power is still a good idea. This shows that a) you believe everything Uncle Alex tells you like a nice little drone b) you Dont check your facts and will even lie to cover up that you dont c) you havent an orginial idea - well maybe you do but are too stupid to see it when it happens d) you need help ps can i have a nickname too a nice cool one like chris's oh an hows giving porn to kids working out for you?
