I bought this book from Amazon ( it was recommended to go with a book that someone recommended in here, about the brain science of faith, I believe, I've not read that one yet ). A very interesting book. One of the core interesting points is that people sometimes are smart in some areas, but still believe dumb things. Another is that people can be successful in one discipline and assume they can jump into another one blindly. For example, CSS and fat_boy are both often telling us that someone who has a PhD in an unrelated field, backs up their favourite conspiracy theories. A fascinating book, I recommend it. Link[^]

It's not even just that they use unqualified sources, they themselves think that they're qualified to interpret data or understand the intricacies of the way the earth works. They take a class on a subject that covers one aspect of the subject and now think they're experts on it and that they are more qualified than, say, someone with a Master's degree in Environmental Science. It's definitely true though...people do think that...American's more so than the rest of the world I think.

The reason nobody believes in global warming anymore is because it has been proven to be an absolute fraud made to convince people to give up all of their liberties and resources to a global government.

Well, this is plainly not true, on a number of levels. Starting with 'nobody believes in global warming anymore'.

I see it more culturally based. People from other countries are bound to have their own "weird things" they believe. People who believe in ghosts is everywhere. America just happens to get the brunt of it because of loud mouths who act like CSS but are in the media.

Thus proving Jesus was black ? Yes, it's a classic example of something he talks about in the book. People remember the hits, not the misses. How often did the Marmite NOT form a pattern that was random, yet, because the human brain seeks patterns, would seem significant to us ? A bigger question would be, why would Jesus appear in a Marmite lid ? What's His motivation ? How does it even make sense ? This is what a miracle looks like, Marmite in the shape of a face that we assume based on conventions created by artists long after Jesus died, to be Him ? Why not his neighbour, Pete the farmer ?

Or that you either love or hate Jesus :-)?

Yeah, I have no idea what it's supposed to demonstrate ( beyond the fact that idiocy isn't necessarily an American prerogative, as has been suggested here lately)... but I thought you'd get a chuckle out of it. ;) :-D

AGW has become politicized, yes. Consequently, sheeple like you bleat 'fraud' without understanding the first thing about the subject. There are data showing that AGW may be happening. There are data showing that AGW may not be happening. There much for climate scientists to understand before policy can be based on their pronouncements.
