The only ones losing money are the insurance companies... So are you against them GETTING money, or against them LOSING money? Do you support or oppose them?

What's being destroyed? And don't give me that "it's destroying liberty" crap, or more of your metaphysical complaints about things not agreeing with your vision. What tangible things is it destroying?

Oh I guess you haven't read the bill. Mandatory insurance is not a bailout? It's like how they do with car insurance, you have to buy it if you drive, but with this you have to buy health insurance if you are alive. If you don't then you will have to pay a special tax.

you just want the poor to die without healthcare

I want them to pay for themselves. If they can't pay for themselves then they had better make sure that they can or suffer the consequences. That is how life works.

        Alex hogarth wrote:

you only want healthcare to be available to the wealthy.

Healthcare is available to those who have jobs. The problem is that the government interferes with the markets in all different sorts of ways, from control of the money supply to senseless bureaucratic nonsense to giving special rights to certain groups, and plain old special interest corruption. When the government fucks off and stops spending all our money and trying to control everything people will have the opportunity to thrive and prosper.

        Alex hogarth wrote:

you think that the amount you pay for insurance covers the medical bill?

I pay for my medical costs upfront cash. I get a mega discount that way too.

        Alex hogarth wrote:

I cannot understand how you think goverment run health care cannot be cheaper - the govement is not committed to scimming 15% of the money paid in to a favoured few - private health care is, so if its properly run you have to pay in 15% less for the same service!

If medical care is provided by government, this can only be achieved by an authoritarian government unconcerned about the rights of the individual. Economic fallacies accepted for more than 100 years in the United States has deceived policy makers into believing that quality medical care can only be achieved by government force, taxation, regulations, and bowing to a system of special interests that creates a system of corporatism. More dollars into any monopoly run by government never increases quality but it always results in higher costs and prices. You are in utter denial, your NHS system is broken, expensive, and ineffective. It's government.

but how much to cover illness? you may be lucky and only have minor aliments but say you (sometime in the future when you grow up) get a car and have a serious no fault accident - do you expect the ambulance to check your pocket for cash before taking you to hospital? - not enough cash and they leave you to die on the road? is this what your wanting? to live in a society that preys on the weak? that allows death and illness to exist despite the opotunity to prevent it? to allow the wealthy to get even richer at the expense on the worker? because this is what happens if you let capitaism run unfettled, try a bit of history and look at the era where this was allowed to happen and see the conditions the workers were reduced to the HNS has problem it is true but yet I have Health insurance TOO so iam covered in all enventualities I will not get turfed out of a hospital bed to die in the street because my insurance has reached a limit, i will not have to plunge my family into decades of dept to cover an illness you wish you live in the bad old days of the industrial revolution

Let's see... 85% of the population already has insurance... This will raise that to 95%... So 10% of the population of the US will be forced to buy some kind of medical insurance... Oh, except part of that 10% includes children and young adults (Anyone under age 26) who the insurance companies will be forced to cover under their parents' existing plan. And part of that includes people with pre-existing conditions or who are already sick, that the insurance companies will no longer be able to say "Screw you, you're too expensive" to. These people, for the most part, will COST the insurance companies money, not give them more income. The only ones actually adding to the insurance companies' income are the ones who just plain don't have enough income, in which case they'll be getting tax credits to help them get cheap insurance.

Enough with this "liberty" garbage... Anything you don't like, you say it destroys personal liberty. You're a bloody broken record... How exactly is it destroying the economy? This isn't adding to the federal budget, as they're really just moving money from elsewhere in the health care budget. They're cutting things that don't work, and putting the money into things that do. In fact, if the reports I'm reading are anywhere near accurate, it's actually going to REDUCE the deficit over time.

Our system is flawed because of government intervention on all levels. The market is not permitted to work in the way we all would like because the government controls it, and now they want even more control. You think because someone else is going to pay for your bills that makes it cheaper. I would just like to smash you. The healthcare bill is a bailout to the insurance companies, a robbery, and criminally destructive.

Your economy is dead in the water, you owe 500% of GDP. You have no liberty. You vote Democrat, Republican, Conservative, Progressive, blah blah. The result is always the same because real power does not lie within your government. You are slaves to an oligarchy. Even Pope Ron Paul is bought and sold.

Problem with taking bets is that no one would wager in CSS's favor. Maybe if we took bets on whether he runs like a gazelle or gets knocked cold before he has the chance.

I want them to pay for themselves. If they can't pay for themselves then they had better make sure that they can or suffer the consequences. That is how life works.

I pay for my medical costs upfront cash. I get a mega discount that way too.

So you are opposed to any form of health insurance ? What about other forms of insurance ? What I really don't understand is why an unemployable bum would be opposed to being provided with health care, especially when they so obviously and desperately need it.
