In some threads with a lot of levels and branches, I'm having a hard time figuring out which of my posts a response was to. (Does that mean I post too much?) If you could put tree view type lines between the connected posts, it would help, though I suspect it would be hard, giving the varying spacing. Another suggestion is a 'Replied to' link that takes you up one level on the thread. Thanks for all you folks do! Richard

This has been requested before, but has always been shot down due to the bandwidth costs of downloading all the images. Perhaps it could be done using (checks buzzword of the day) html5?

[rimshot] Maybe the "Replied To" link? Or "Up one level" link? Or some other equally poetic name.

Actually it can, and that's the plan. The Canvas element in HTML5 makes this a lot leaner and meaner - better than pulling in images and a ton of markup to hold them.

How about this: turn the message icon (general, news, question, ...) into a hyperlink that opens up the parent message. Alternative: add a widget next to the pin. :)

Yeah, but replying to the wrong post can really enliven the discussion. :)

              Best wishes, Hans

If the parent was on the current page, open it up, otherwise reload the page to the parent message?

"if not on the current page, reload the page to the parent message, and open it up", if doable, sounds great. :)
