I don't know if you are being deliberately obtuse or not. If everyone is dead, no one can collect the bet...
If I have accidentally said something witty, smart, or correct, it is purely by mistake and I apologize for it.

You're betting on the extinction of the human race. If you're right, the human race is still around in 100 years. If you're wrong, humanity is extinct, and willing the prize to his descendants is pointless. You need some caffeine, man...

WE humans are about to be wiped out in a few decades. The grandchildren of many of us will not live to old age. Hear it from Frank Fenner, emeritus professor of microbiology at the Australian National University and the man who helped eradicate smallpox. "Homo sapiens will become extinct, perhaps within 100 years," he told The Australian this week. [^] Which apparently fell on deaf ears so accustomed are we to hearing doommongers like this ranting away. As a scpetic to any one here who agrees, I'll take a $100 on this guy being wrong. Any takers?

He could be wrong, but he could be right. Antibiotics have both made us less immune, and encouraged bugs to evolve to the point where they are worthless. It's like the bird flu, we can see the possibility, but that doesn't mean it will happen.

Author of the Guardians Saga (Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels)*grin* I can't reply as eloquently, but it's at least one reason I avoid medication if I think I can pull through without it.

And what's wrong with eugenicists? They're just trying to make humans genetically better, is that such a bad thing?
Well, that's a different tack to take. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

You are confusing the Gaia hypothesis with the beliefs of the New Agers who espouse their interpretation of that hypothesis. Bloody Golding, theosomorphing a feedback system.
