You should post a source, And stop guessing wildly. This[^] chart disagrees.

The chart doesn't show the type of increase in life expectancy that Delek the Drunk stated. In fact, it proved my point, if you could survive to adulthood, then you would live about as long as we do now.

You should learn to read. Numbers increasing most years Lives are still longer. True, Dave's math was off, But the trend is still present Admit you were wrong.

Right back at you, kid. You claimed life expectancy Constant after youth. Chart shows you are wrong. Even starting from older Lifespan does increase.

            Life expectancy hasn't increased

It has. I can expect to live about 5 years longer than a man of my age 50 years ago.

It is a statistical inaccuracy due to the fact that infant mortality has dropped considerably

It is statistically correct. Because of infant and child mortality, a baby born in the USA in 1850 could be expected to live for 38.3 years, if it experienced the current age-specific mortality rates of the USA in 1850 throughout its life. However, a child having survived 10 years in the USA in 1850, could be expected to live for a further 48 years.

the statistics you are referring to average in infant mortality

The probabilities of survival through each period are calculated from the dates of birth and death of the population. Not an average.

Personally, I think that the government is putting something in our water. Look at the results...every single person who drinks water will die! Some of us just have a better tolerance than others to what they're putting in our water...but eventually, it will kill us all!

No, it's not the water. It's the money. Every single country around the world has laced their paper currency with deadly, slow-acting toxins that will ensure that even if you live a perfectly healthy life, you'll eventually shrivel up and die. It's a global conspiracy, engineered by the Buildaburger group, Ben Bernanke, and the space aliens, in order to turn us all into brainwashed minions of the communist dictatorship of the government. And no, that's NOT a contradiction. They just changed the dictionary to make you THINK so :)

Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) its lethal to humans Death due to accidental inhalation of DHMO, even in small quantities. Prolonged exposure to solid DHMO causes severe tissue damage. Excessive ingestion produces a number of unpleasant though not typically life-threatening side-effects. DHMO is a major component of acid rain. Gaseous DHMO can cause severe burns. Contributes to soil erosion. Leads to corrosion and oxidation of many metals. Contamination of electrical systems often causes short-circuits. Exposure decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes. Found in biopsies of pre-cancerous tumors and lesions. Given to vicious dogs involved in recent deadly attacks. Often associated with killer cyclones in the U.S. Midwest and elsewhere, and in hurricanes including deadly storms in Florida, New Orleans and other areas of the southeastern U.S. Thermal variations in DHMO are a suspected contributor to the El Nino weather effect. DHMO is a component of all Biological and chemical weapons it is know to be used by all terrorist organizations including al Quaeda It is also highly addictive, withdrawal of DHMO results in sever cravings, physical deteriation and death.

Hmm, that about sums it up, except that it kills women and children too. An unintentional war would be kind of interesting... "Sorry, we were aiming for that mountain. Was that your city?" "Hold on, did you say 25 degrees EAST or 25 degrees WEST? Err, really? Uh oh." "Hey, I'm just following orders. My CO said to walk this way and shoot everyone. See here on the map? ... What do you mean 'upside-down?'" And for the H2G2 fans... "I seem to be having tremendous difficulty with my lifestyle"

My enemy territory name was once "an innocent bystander". Lots of messages would therefore appear on peoples' screens such as: "You airstriked an innocent bystander" "You sniped an innocnet bystander" "You were blown up by an innocent bystander's panzerfaust" Good times although people asked me to change it because afte a while they felt really bad at the mental image.
