Do you mean 'agoraphobia'? That means a fear of having a panic attack outside of your 'safe place', essentially, so no, I'm not afraid of the outdoors.

I noticed it last night, aparently its Jupiter: http://wattsupwiththat.com/2010/09/19/jupiter-closest-this-week-not-again-until-2022/#more-25082[^] Its incredibly big. You can actually see its size in relation to the moon.

Sigh... I miss nature... Can barely even see the stars when I look up... Too much light pollution from the surrounding city. Back in the suburbs, where I grew up, I used to just point my telescope out the window... It wasn't perfect, but I could see things. Granted, when I went up to Alaska and went camping north of Anchorage, you could look up and see thousands and thousands of stars, so the NYC suburbs aren't that great either by comparison.

Back in the suburbs, where I grew up, I used to just point my telescope out the window... It wasn't perfect, but I could see things. Granted, when I went up to Alaska and went camping north of Anchorage, you could look up and see thousands and thousands of stars, so the NYC suburbs aren't that great either by comparison.

Author of the Guardians Saga (Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels)Provence is like that, thats why VanGogh painted 'stary night' there. You can see the milky way clearly, its very very clear air. Even in Lux Jupiter was very very bright. I couldnt work out what it was, it looked like an airplane coming in to land it was that big and bright. Amazing, never seen it before.

Hah I live in Singapore - I can barely see the full moon let alone those itty bitty star points. Singapore does not understand the word for moderation, not in light and water usage. Looking out from my 12th floor window I can see 2 screens that must be 10 metres across all lit up till the wee hours, why I don't know they have no meaningful information just random colours.

But colors... They're so pretty... Thankfully, I live literally on the edge of the urban area of Calgary, so I don't have issues with lights (at least in one direction). Jupiter is a beautiful site right now from here.
