They join the UK Met office in embracing UHI now[^] An urban land-surface model has been included in the HadAM3 Global Climate Model[^] Take out the .5`C due to UHI and you have lost much of the supposed warming of th elast century: http://scienceandpublicpolicy.org/images/stories/papers/originals/Rate_of_Temp_Change_Raw_and_Adjusted_NCDC_Data.pdf[^] (Yes, I know its only the US, but it has an old and extensive data set, and yes, I know its fomr the SPPI, but that doesnt detract form the validity of the data.) Interesting to see whats going on here, the moderaiton of the alarmist message, the acceptance of doubt and uncertainties (recent Royal Society letter) and scientists stating outright that GW is a lie (Lewis). Prominent people like him making statements like this are going to encourage other scientists who currently feel muzzled to speak out, thus opening the flood gates and leaving the few remaining alarmists isolated, and looking frankly quite foolish.
