The reason for global warming (joke)
-
I finally found the reason for global warming. The scientist are mixing Fahrenheit and Celsius thus since the past work has been in Celsius it looks like it is warmer! I know it is a bad joke but it is the best my poor brain can come up with.
The British are rather odd when it comes to temperature. In summer we call it in Fahrenheit, and in Winter in Celcius. Seriously! On a hot day we say, "Oh it must be 90 degrees out there" and on a cold day we say, "Brr, it must be -1 or 2, the ice is just starting to cover the ground" Odd bunch really.

That's why we have British Summer Time - so we know when to switch from C to F...
Real men don't use instructions. They are only the manufacturers opinion on how to put the thing together.

NASA goofed once by mixing "British" and SI units of measure thus sending a deep space explorer off course. Sorry I cannot remember which one, and I do not know if they got it fixed. When I was in school (back in the dark ages) they referred to the inch/pound system as British versus meter/liter as SI (International System of Units) or metric.

Actually, it wasn't a deep space explorer... It was a Mars orbiter, and it didn't just go off course... It crashed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_Climate_Orbiter[^]
Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?

We're supposed to be metric, but we keep clinging on to these old dogrel systems. The weather forecasts shouldn't have Farenheit (it is meaningless to most of my generation anyhow), I mean how can it be below freezing and still a positive number (OK I do know why, but it is still stupid[^]) . The Imperial system was just nuts to boot : 22 yards in a furlong and 112 pounds in a hundredweight anyone?. I need a pint :-)
