CaptainSeeSharp: The cold war is over. We're not fighting communism anymore, so you can get off the "Capitalism will solve all of life's problems" bandwagon, and accept that improving society sometimes involves sharing the wealth. The vast majority of Muslims are not terrorists. Al Qaeda is a terrorist group, but using that to imply that all Muslims want to blow things up, is just like using the KKK to imply that all white people want to burn crosses and lynch blacks, or using Glenn Beck to imply that all Americans are loud-mouthed, racist #%(&*#s. President Obama is not the anti-christ. He is not a terrorist, and he is not trying to turn you into a little brainwashed zombie (Though it could be argued that you already are one). He was born in Hawaii, and he's just another politician, influenced by special interest groups and primarily focused on making everyone like him enough that they'll hire him again in 2012. You're free to like or dislike him as you so choose, and so are the rest of us. fat_boy: Global warming is real. It is influenced by human activity to some degree, and CO2 is just one of the many factors. Nearly the entire scientific community agrees on this. Pointing out a broken thermometer, or whining about someone's bad choice of words in an e-mail does not change this. The only questions are the magnitude of the change and of our influence, and what we should do about it. In general, here are a few thoughts for both of you (And other aspiring trolls) to consider... 1) Logical fallacies and other mud-slinging debate tactics may work in real-time, but they are more obvious when your audience has time to read and re-read your statements before responding. If you find that part of your argument has been defeated, admit it and move on. People will respect you more for it, and you will gain credibility. 2) Insulting people and calling them "cultists" or "obamanoids" or the usual four-letter words, is not a good way to bring them to your cause. In fact, it will probably do the opposite. 3) If you want to argue a position, first make sure you actually understand that position. This has been a public service announcement. We now return you to your regularly-scheduled trolling. End of line.

So I guess I'm just an aspiring troll. Well I thought my most recent attempt was a wonderful success, especially since it wasn't boring (unlike facebookfat_boy and CSS)

In the Lounge this would have (I hope) garnered many  votes. It's so nice to see a rational and reasoned argument occasionally.

Just say 'NO' to evaluated arguments for diadic functions! Ash

Enjoy it while it lasts... Probably in the next few hours, fat_boy will reply with a long post containing cherry-picked "facts" (Opinions of people he agrees with) to turn this thread into an AGW debate, and CSS will try to break his record for "Most insults in a single post" in his own reply.

I still want know how you can respond negatively when I agreed pretty much to everything you stated about CO2.

You're trying to turn this into another AGW debate, just as I predicted you would, and I'm not falling for it.

Much Sense do you speak, but calling someone a 'Brain Dead, shit eating, moronic bastard' is sometimes the only way to get it out of your system :) 0I hate the word 'C**t' but that's sometimes the best thing to shout when you are behind the steering wheel!

I don't care if you're agreeing or disagreeing. That's completely irrelevant, because I'm not letting you pull me into an AGW debate.

I agree, its a subject not worthy of debate, only ridicule.

Very good, but bets this doesn't stop him for a second. He's still getting whatever weird psychological thrill he gets from all this. I vote for the application of electro-shock therapy. You know, the type that was later discarded as being nothing but torture.
