BitTorrent Based DNS To Counter US Domain Seizures
-
The domain seizures by the United States authorities in recent days and upcoming legislation that could make similar takeovers even easier in the future, have inspired a group of enthusiasts to come up with a new, decentralized and BitTorrent-powered DNS system. This system will exchange DNS information through peer-to-peer transfers and will work with a new .p2p domain extension.[^] This is a really good idea. People need to do something to secure the free internet for the people before the government secures it for themselves. When the people secure the free internet by making it decentralized and impossible for any single entity or institution from controlling it there is freedom and the government hates that, especially something as affective against tyranny as the internet is. When the government "secures" it, they clamp down and turn it into a censored borge like hive where they feed you propaganda, spy on your every move, steal your data, and limit all unauthorized productive activity on the web. The FCC and the DHS just hate your guts and want to stomp them out and crush your spirit. The DHS baths you in radiation as they look over your naked body and then they feel you up and down and finally molest your gentials to make sure they're not Al' Queada. DHS wants to do something similar to you on the web.

This is when you stop typing and hit the "Post Message" button. People would have praised you for actually writing a sensible post, and agreed with the sentiment.

But no, you had to keep typing, and now you sound like a mentally-deranged lunatic... And I don't mean that in a nice way.
Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?

Author of the Guardians Saga (Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels)I'm just saying it how it is. Pretending you are being protected when minimum wage TSA thugs irradiate you and your children and feel them up wont help. How would you explain to your children that its ok to let strangers feel them in private areas?

I actually agree that the TSA has gone too far with the scanners and "enhanced" pat downs. I've made my feelings on that clear on this forum several times already. But when you take a valid opinion on something that's actually being done to reduce government control, and then follow it up with a mindless rant about everything you hate about the government, you damage your original argument and come off as an idiot.

You've got it the wrong way around Ian. One portion of his post could have been taken in such a way as to temporarily obsure the fact he's an idiot.

I know, but I'm trying to be nice. I'm in a decent mood this afternoon. Now, if I had written that post this morning, when I was in a horrible mood, it would have been much worse. Catch me about mid-day EST on Friday, after a certain scheduled conference call, and I'll be in a REALLY bad mood :)

Author of the Guardians Saga (Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels)I'm not the one who has gone to far, the government has. I am just telling it how it it is. You want to be a little ninny like one of those star trek charactors and go "mmmm tat tat tat, my goodness gracious" with your hands folded. Answer my question. How would you explain to your children that its ok to let strangers feel them in private areas?

You know, I'm trying to help you out here... I don't know why, but I am... Whether the government has gone too far is irrelevant. Your fantasies about being molested by TSA agents are irrelevant. If you're writing a post about peer-to-peer DNS, then write a post about peer-to-peer DNS, and don't fill it with an unrelated rant about your fixation with evil government. If you actually start writing sensible posts instead of turning everything into a rant, maybe people might start lending a little bit of credibility to your opinions. If you had left out that last paragraph, I (and probably others) would have replied positively, agreeing with the sentiment. As it stands, your rant has eclipsed the actual purpose of this thread to such a degree that only the subject remains of the original topic, and something that probably deserved a little attention is now being ignored. See how that works?

Excuse me, but didn't I already mention that I'm against the new TSA garbage? You're just trying to change the subject. Learn to write intelligent posts, or keep portraying yourself as an idiot. I'm done here.
