Well, I think they did have guns, but Lasers were yet to be invented, so... Yes. Reasoning: Most of the Jews (equipped with sharks-with-friken'-laser-beams-attached-to-their-heads) were based in towns and cities far from sea water - the natural habitat of the shark-with-a-friken'-laser-beam-attached-to-it's-head, and indeed, the only environment in which they can survive. Thus, unless they chose to drop them on the SSs' heads from the tops of buildings, they would not have been too effective. No significant change in outcome.

Wow, new record... You Godwin'ed the thread before it even started. That's like starting a game of chess by tipping your king :) But hey, if you want to post controversial opinions just for the hell of it*, let's play.

I didn't lose anyone to it, but at least a couple great-grandparents came to the US to escape it. I don't exactly think about it much, but not giving a damn is going a little too far, in my opinion. It's not all that relevant to modern times, but it was a significant event that shouldn't be forgotten. Remember the old quote... "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it."

No I'm still working on that.. you don't seem to have any weaknesses though, so it's hard edit: I'm going to take a nap.. I'll be back to see how much damage I caused (prediction: not even a scratch) tomorrow

Yep, hard to write a decent story when your characters have no flaws. I learned that one the hard way... So many rewrites... :)

Are we talking about 1) The Transformers character? Not very practical - there is only the one real one. The rest are made of plastic and would not terrify the SS sufficiently to allow the Jews to escape their doom. 2) The Lager? You could use it to get the SS pissed, I guess, and then leave while they were still the Jews "Best mate, you are" - but I don't see how the laser would be attached. 3) A police dog? The lasers are too heavy to mount on the head of a GSD - the neck would break.

"the Land Shark is considered the cleverest of all sharks. Unlike the great white shark, which tends to inhabit the waters and harbors of recreational beach areas, the Land Shark may strike at any place, any time. It is capable of disguising its voice, and generally preys on young, single women." Not too many of them in the SS...

So, anyone want to explore a "would the Holocaust have happened if the Jews had guns and trained sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads?"-theoretical scenario? Also that reminds me, I think I'm part of the first generation here that really doesn't give a shit about the Holocaust anymore, despite losing some great-great-grandparents to it. edit: and also, to anyone who denies the holocaust: be my guest. Why should this be illegal? I'm going to deny both the first and second world wars, just to see what will happen ... nothing yet. Wow I feel sooo bad-ass, I denied even more history than those hardcore holocaust deniers! Are there any other interesting parts of history to deny?

The quivering masses of flesh may have been enough distraction for the soldiers that they could have attacked them from behind while they sat and gawked.

As the character you portray in your posts is evidently a sociopath, I would be surprised to find that you did give a sh*t about the holocaust. :)

Unlike the big man himself, I don't have the magic to fit. I'll just visit JSOP, "borrow" some hardware(provided his wife isn't there to greet me), and then head over to the his front door. I might even knock to be polite.

Haven't you ever heard of the old saying "I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees"? Well think about this one, I'm sure most people would rather die on their feet than die on their knees. Wouldn't you rather fight and possibly die of gunshot wounds than starve to death, be experimented on, worked to death, thrown in a gas chamber, or thrown in a furnace and burned alive?

Also that reminds me, I think I'm part of the first generation here that really doesn't give a sh*t about the Holocaust anymore, despite losing some great-great-grandparents to it.

"Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it."

and also, to anyone who denies the holocaust: be my guest. Why should this be illegal?

I agree. Shouldn't be illegal. Anyone who does it (Aside from just joking) is a complete @#(%&*#, but it's not illegal to be a #(%&@#ing #%(&*@#. Ahmadinejad** is a perfect example of this. Sure, he can come to the UN General Assembly every year, and he's free to give a hate-filled speech about that and other things... On the same token, the other ambassadors are free to insult him by walking out, and the rest of us are free to laugh at him, call him a #$&(*@#&ing #%(&*@#, and generally hate his guts. * Is this your promised troll thread? I thought you'd do better :) ** What an annoying name... I had to look that up on Wikipedia to get the spelling... EDIT: Gah, missed the shift key and got a :0 instead of a :)

And how about all those other episodes, that either arent in history or arent in your memory. Are you destined to repeat them? :)

Sadly this has been proven false time and time again. A person might think that, but ask a group of people who's willing to take the bullet to the head today and they'll tear each other apart not to be it.
