My site had a denial of service attack that was flooding server with requests. The attack was obviated by black listing the ip address. Now sometime when connecting to database server from the site I get error saying: "Server does not allow remote connections". Besides I can access the database using query analyser program with no problem. The error shows sporadically. Is there a hack happening or a technical problem , network problem , etc. Thanks in advance.

From my experience, (which is close to nothing) It's either your really being attacked, or someone using your server to download bit torrents or other P2P software. you can check the ports of the IP which is connecting to you. If it is your web server port then most likely you are being attacked or wrong configuration (simultaneous connection amount set too less), otherwise you can check if someone turned on the bit torrent.
