This article[^] is such an excellent example of how groups within the "green" movement, really have blinders on. Or maybe it's just that they are only partly green. I think some politicians are in for a surprise if they think they can approve a permit for a "green" company to kill off endangered species.

Chris Meech I am Canadian. [heard in a local bar] In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is. [Yogi Berra] posting about Crystal Reports here is like discussing gay marriage on a catholic church’s website.[Nishant Sivakumar]

Holy shit, I thought that Whippoorwill was the head of a crazy reptile. After a few seconds I realized it was a bird and its body!

Sadly that's nothing to do with being Green or not. If the project was to build a sandwich shack at the same location, or a multi-sex sauna bistro, the environmental impact would still be there. It is not WHAT is being built but THAT something is being buitl there.

There's positives and negatives to everything... you just have to weigh your options...

Reading that made the question pop into my head: Is whale oil a green energy? We don't have to drill for it. It can be collected by guys in nothing more than a non-polluting wind powered sail boat. Whales are sorta renewable.... ;P

I actually don't have a problem harvesting whales for whale oil. Especially if it's only done with a sail boat. :) As long as it's done with an eye towards ensuring the survival of the species, then I'm in agreement.

We waste millions of pounds of flesh every year by putting dead humans in the ground (after pumping full of chemicals) or crematoriums. I propose finding a better use for this decaying flesh.
