Hello! We would like to introduce a new free help authoring tool that we created. It is called "Create CHM file from screenshots" and it's purpose and user guide is already in it's title :) The tool is pretty straightforward: take some screenshots with your favorite screenshot capture tool, add them to this program, write some descriptive text for topics and click "Compile". That's all you need to do to create CHM help file. Yes, it's not a fully functional help authoring tool, but it's purpose is to create small help files for small applications. http://www.helpinator.com/create-chm-from-screenshots.html[^] Hope you'll like it ;) -- Dmitri Popov, Major Mind Software

You may get some flak from people who object to this kind of shareware lead-in advertising, but personally I'm OK with it, because after all it is free. The only problem I would have is if it were crippled in some functional way, that prevented you from generating a useful help file. To reassure people that this is not the case, you may want to post a sample project (with compiled help file) on your web site, so people can see exactly what the free version is capable of.

      Best wishes, Hans

Hello, Hans! Thank you for good suggestion. I'll add sample project to the program's home page. By the way, program's own help file was created with it.
