I did it. Went out and bought the camera. I am R5200 poorer, but far richer in errr... well we will see once I start developing :-D All my co-workers ooohed and aahhed, this is a flashy *groan* camera. I was going to buy the Canon EOS 300 but after reading this comparison chart decided to go for the Canon EOS 300v, which is really just a minor upgrade. It has some critical improvements though:

    • Stainless steel lens mount, not plastic
    • Dioptric adjustment for glasses wearers, rather important seeing as I do wear glasses
    • Larger rear LCD info panel
    • The kit comes with a 28-90mm lens rather than the 28-80mm lens, so a bit more flexible

I am grinning like you cannot believe, but my credit card feels oddly lighter... Oh man this is cool, first real gadget I have ever bought myself :-D I will post some pics once I have them developed. Sorry for burdening you with my glee, but I just had to let it out.

Well if you look closely you'll see that character does stand for everything about me too. Talking about time for new photos, I need to get some done too. All of the ones of my web site (even the header graphic) are about fourteen months old now (taken just after my eighteenth) and, well, they are the most flattering pictures I've seen. :-O

I'm not self-concious about it either but the pair I had at the time, well, they needed replacing :). Uni is brilliant - I've had a great nine weeks (in general). As is to be expected there's been the odd ups and downs, and a stackload of work, but it's definitely an experience not to forget. How about yourself? We've not caught up in a while :). -- Andrew.
