You see I sign in a shop window that says, "Give me your chocolate and no one gets hurt!" and you think to yourself, "I better tell Megan about that."

Technically speaking the dictionary would define Visual Basic users as programmers.
But here again, a very generalized, liberal definition is being employed and it's wrong

Yes, I know what you mean. I talk about people on CP as people that I know, and sometimes people say 'I don't think I've met him', and I say 'He's in the US', or 'He's in India'. Then they look at me funny. Christian No offense, but I don't really want to encourage the creation of another VB developer. - Larry Antram 22 Oct 2002 C# will attract all comers, where VB is for IT Journalists and managers - Michael P Butler 05-12-2002 Again, you can screw up a C/C++ program just as easily as a VB program. OK, maybe not as easily, but it's certainly doable. - Jamie Nordmeyer - 15-Nov-2002

The other day I was reading my dads PM (Popular Mechanics) and one page had a big red heading which said; The Maunder Effect I instantly thought of scanning it in and posting it on CP. In fact I am getting the mag this weekend to do just that... :~

Hmmm, Ok It's just I'd always seen it written as the Maunder Minimum and never as an "effect". Although there are other effects that make use of the Maunder Minimum. BTW: If it is correct, it makes some of the global warming stuff look like nonsense. Regardz Colin J Davies
